Grade K Newsletter

Greetings Kindergarten Families,

Hope this finds you and your family well and adjusting to the cooler temperatures! Winter is sure trying to come, a bit too quickly, if you ask me!

Just a few updates and reminders for you in this newsletter. Most importantly, please sign up for a parent/teacher conference on November 20, 21, or 22.

It is time to register for fall conferences. This is a time check in on your child’s progress and partner for future success. Kindergarten will be hosting fall conferences on the following dates:

• Monday, November 20th between 3:30 pm – 6:40 pm

• Tuesday, November 21st between 3:30 pm – 6:40 pm

• Wednesday, November 22nd between 7:30 am - 10:40 am

You may sign up for a timeslot through the ParentVUE portal, and select “Conference” from the menu along the left side. Use this link to view a tip sheet on how to navigate ParentVUE and sign up for conferences.

Veterans in our community are invited to join us at the Education Center on Friday, November 10th at 12:30 p.m. for a brief program honoring our veterans. We will be having the JROTC present the colors, all students will recite the pledge of allegiance, Maggie Hubbling will be singing the national anthem, and students will have some small tokens of appreciation to give to the veterans in attendance. If you are a veteran, or know of a veteran you’d like to invite, please do so!

The Minnesota School Sealant Program will be available at North Branch Area Education Center, where your child has the opportunity to receive FREE or reduced cost preventive dental services at school. A licensed dental professional will be offering sealants, cleanings, and fluoride varnishes to students.

The School Sealant Program will be happening on:

Thursday, December 7th for grades PreK-K.

In order to be eligible to receive these services, you need to fill out a consent form with your child's information and return it to school. Please complete this consent form today, www.schoolsealants.com/consentform, to make sure your child will be able to benefit from this great program.

The internet can be an extremely helpful tool for students and families but it also can be unsafe. Join Mike Nelson, School Resource Officer as he will provide you with information about social media safety, drug education, E-cigs and various safety tips. There will be time for questions. This is a free presentation please preregister

As the temperatures drop, please ensure your child comes to school dressed warmly. Layers, hats, gloves, and scarves are essential to keep our students cozy during outdoor activities. We kindly request that all winter clothing items are labeled with your child’s name. This helps us reunite lost items with their owner.

NBAPS Early Learning includes kindergarten, preschool, parent/child classes, early childhood screening, and special education. Services are provided by caring staff in an environment designed specifically to meet the social-emotional and learning needs of young children.
