New Video Resource: Help with School Meals and Summer EBT Applications! New Video Resource: Help with School Meals and Summer EBT Applications!

We are excited to share a new video resource designed to help families complete the School Meals and Summer EBT Application!

A Step-by-Step Guide to Completing the School Meals and Summer EBT Application is narrated by Mark Dinglasan, Executive Director of the New Jersey Office of the Food Security Advocate and a New Jersey parent himself.

This helpful video provides clear, easy-to-follow instructions, including close-up visuals of the application and explanations of each section. Families can choose to watch the entire video or go directly to the section of the application where they need assistance.

Completing the application is an important step in determining eligibility for free or reduced-price school meals and Summer EBT benefits. We encourage all families who have not yet submitted an application to take advantage of this valuable resource.

For your convenience, the video will be linked in the Parent Resources section of each weekly newsletter, making it easy to access whenever you need guidance or support.

We hope this resource helps make the application process easier and more accessible for all of our families!

On Friday, October 30th, students are invited to celebrate by wearing their costumes or school spirit colors to school. Costumes may be worn to school or brought in to slip on over regular clothes later in the day.

To ensure the health and safety of our school community, we ask families to follow these costume guidelines:

  1. Students choosing to dress up can wear costumes to school and/or bring costumes that can be easily worn over their clothing.

  2. No weapons, swords, or handheld accessories.

  3. Costumes must be school-appropriate (e.g., no fake blood, inappropriate language, or frightening imagery).

  4. Halloween masks that cover the face are not permitted. It is important that all students can be easily identified and have full visibility while moving throughout the school. Please save masks for evening trick-or-treating.

We will kick off the day with a school-wide parade beginning at 10:00 a.m! If it rains, the parade will be held indoors for students only.

Should you and your family choose not to participate in Halloween festivities, please let your child’s teacher know. While there will be other activities centered around the fall season, an alternate activity will be available for your child during the parade.

We invite parents to join us for the parade! If you plan to attend, please note that the same guidelines above apply to adult spectators as well.

As per the district nutrition policy, no outside food is permitted in the building. Please also refrain from sending in goody bags/candy.

We look forward to a fun and safe celebration together! 🎃

Growing Kindness, Respect & Safety Together!

October is a wonderful time to focus on kindness, respect, safety, and building positive relationships! This month, our Counseling Corner is highlighting several important topics and events to support our students and families.

📣 HIB Parent Workshop – October 8 at 7:00 PM
Join us for an informative evening about Harassment, Intimidation, and Bullying (HIB). We will discuss what HIB is, how concerns are addressed at school, and ways families can partner with us to create a safe and supportive school community.

🤝 Week of Respect
We will be celebrating the Week of Respect by encouraging students to show kindness, include others, use respectful words and actions, and help make our school a welcoming place for everyone. Families can continue these conversations at home by talking about what respect looks, sounds, and feels like.

🔥 Fire Prevention Week

Safety is an important part of helping children feel confident and prepared. During Fire Prevention Week, students will learn about fire safety, prevention, and what to do in an emergency. This is also a great opportunity for families to review their home fire escape plan and practice it together!
