March 2026 Update From The D95 Foundation
From Your Executive Director
Hello D95 Community!
Thank you again for the incredible support surrounding last month's Studio 95 Gala. Because of this community’s generosity, the Foundation set a new fundraising record—and that momentum is already carrying forward in meaningful ways for our students.
We have now raised $58,700 toward our $100,000 goal to bring a 3D Interactive Anatomy Table to D95. We are well over halfway there, and every gift helps move this exciting resource closer to our classrooms. If you have been considering a contribution, I hope you will help us close the gap.
In this month’s Grantee Spotlight, you’ll read about the District 95 Science Fair—a joyful example of how your support fuels hands-on learning experiences that bring students and families together. I also hope you'll join us on April 30th for INCubator Pitch Night—our district's own “Shark Tank” style event where student entrepreneurs pitch businesses they’ve built from idea to execution and secure real funding to grow their companies. It’s energizing, inspiring, and also a great opportunity for middle school and upper elementary students to watch high school role models step confidently into leadership.
With Spring Break just around the corner, I hope your family finds time to rest, recharge, and enjoy the change of season! Thank you for continuing to invest in opportunities that help our students learn, grow, and shine.
Together for D95 Students,
Tessa Zevallos

Grantee Spotlight: District-Wide Science Fair
Because of your generosity, the District 95 Science Fair was once again a joyful celebration of curiosity and discovery for students and families across our community. Hosted by the LZHS Women in STEAM Club on February 21st at LZHS, the event invited K–12 students to showcase independent science projects they explored at home—from creative experiments to innovative designs. The room buzzed with excitement as families moved from project to project, asked questions, and cheered on the hard work behind each display.
What made the Science Fair especially memorable was that it wasn’t just about presenting projects—it was an experience for the whole family. Younger students participated in hands-on exploration stations, siblings learned alongside one another, and everyone gathered for an engaging live science show. Events like this remind us that learning can be both rigorous and joyful—and when families are part of the celebration, it strengthens the culture of curiosity throughout our entire district.
