Benton Weekly Update

These are the final two weeks of school. Which means, we're still in school learning! Students are completing final exams and submitting final projects in several classes, and it's important to keep that focus as teachers continue to grade assignments and update grades.

Cheer & Song Tryouts are this week on Wednesday after school in the Dance Room. Good luck!

Also on Wednesday, we have our End of Year Awards Ceremony at 5:30pm on the back patio. Families may enter through the sliding gate in the parking lot. In addition to announcing our 8th Grade Valedictorian and Salutatorian, we will recognize Principal's Honor Roll (GPA 4.0 & above), Honor Roll (GPA 3.5-3.99), Perfect Attendance all year, departmental awards, and Honor Cords will be awarded to 8th Graders who have earned them. On Friday during period 7B, our 6th Grade students with good citizenship will have a field day with games and activities. Thank you to parents for your donations and support, students should dress comfortably (adhering to dress code) and wear sunscreen.

Have you completed the online registration for next year? This is separate from selecting classes and electives. All NLM students must complete the online registration each year. 6th Graders, do you have the TDAP vaccination? You must have that before starting 7th Grade. Parents can submit proof of vaccination to the Benton Office Manager, Terié at twohlford@nlmusd.org

Last Wednesday Benton musicians put on a spectacular concert at Biola. In case you missed it, a link to the performance is below.

You can now purchase the 25-26 Benton Yearbook in the school office (cash or check payable to ASB). The Yearbook is produced by Benton students and is delivered the last week of school. It's important to purchase your yearbook in advance, as we only print the number of books we sell in advance. Don't miss out, secure your yearbook now!

There will be no school on Monday, May 25 in observance of Memorial Day.

The Dance begins at 6pm. Students who are absent on Friday, or who leave school early will NOT be permitted to attend the dance. If students must leave early on Friday for medical/dental appointments, please provide the appointment card so that an exception may be made.

8th Grade Students and Families, we have a newsletter curated just for you! The 8th Grade newsletter contains information specific to you, 8th Grade Students and Families, to help you make the most of 8th Grade, and to plan for the end of the year.

Our retro sweatshirts are available for purchase in the Benton office.

Parents, please help us by checking your student's outfit before they leave for school. If students are out of dress code, the students will be asked to change into P.E. clothes or a loaner shirt or shorts.
