MLK Day of Service Information and Sign-up
This event will take place in the high school cafeteria (up the hill from the football stadium, with the circular drive) and elementary students must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
This year, we’re excited to introduce a “stuff a plushy” station - these stuffed animals will be donated to St. Christopher’s Hospital for Children in Philadelphia.
Elementary students will also make monster bookmarks for First Book Philadelphia and local Little Free Libraries…..thank you cards for local VA hospitals…..and blessing bags for the Cecil and Grace Bean Soup Kitchen in Norristown.
Students will meet a local veteran and his service dog and find out how these dogs are trained to be helpers. They’ll also learn about recycling in our community and watch a presentation by PV high school students highlighting Martin Luther King Jr.’s mission.
We hope you can join us for this inspiring day of community service!! If you are unable to participate in the live event, sign up for a take-home kit using the same link above - while supplies last!

Kindergarten student screenings will be scheduled at a later date in May so we can meet you and your child and learn more about your child's early reading and numeracy skills.
*Feel free to pass along this information to friends or neighbors who have their first child planning to start Kindergarten next year.
Shoe Tying Video
Please have your child practice tying their shoes. This is a great video that offers a helpful shoe tying technique.
Please remind students to:
- make sure their shoes are tied before leaving home in the morning.
- make sure their shoes are tied before going into the hallways and using the stairs.
Beginning January 16th through January 26th there will be a Shoe Tying Challenge that students may participate in. If they can demonstrate successfully tying their shoe to a staff member, they will be given a certificate to fill out that will be displayed on a bulletin board in our cafeteria hallway!
PV Climate Survey
Information from Dr. Russell's Superintendent's Message:
As a district, we are commitment to fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment for students. To gather insights into the perceptions of our PV community, we are conducting a Climate Survey and seek the participation of our families and staff. The survey is confidential, and responses will be aggregated to ensure anonymity. The survey will be open from Tuesday, January 16, to Friday, January 26, 2024. Students in grades 4-12 will also be asked to participate; the survey will be administered in class during school hours with questions tailored to each level (elementary vs. secondary). Preview the student surveys using the links below:
The input received will be invaluable for assessing various aspects of the school environment, including safety, belonging, bullying, and diversity, equity, and inclusion. Candid feedback from participants will inform decisions aimed at enhancing the overall experience for students, staff and parents.
Please contact your child's school with questions or concerns or if you would like to opt your child out of participating in the survey. Thank you in advance for your support.
