KAES Keenections

It is time to schedule that hair cut and put a little more bleach in the laundry, because next Friday is picture day. Each student will have their individual pictures taken in their chapel uniforms. This picture will be used in our yearbook. Class pictures will be taken next month.

Mrs. Aimee Patterson will be our new reading support teacher. She is excited to be joining KAES and supporting reading from the library. Mrs. Patterson and her husband, Travis (Pastor Travis, our school pastor) have been married for 26 years and have 2 children, both graduates of KAES. They have been part of the Keene community for the last 8 years. Mrs. Patterson has a BS in Elementary Education and taught for 14 year before taking time to be a full time mother. She loves working with kids and looks forward to getting to know your children this year. It is her prayer, that in addition to sharing her love of reading, our students will see in her the joy that comes from knowing and loving Jesus.

We had 100% participation with our EES screening. If your child is recommended for further review in any of these areas, you will be contacted with the documentation.

School shirts are still available in the office. If you would like a shirt or an extra shirt for your child they are $12.

You may have noticed the nine concrete trucks on Tuesday. Over the last three months we have had construction in the back of our school. It was our hope to have it completed before school started however, because we had to relocate our water lines and gas lines the project took longer than expected. Today I am excited to announce that starting next week, students will be able to use our new covered walkway from the gym across to the middle school. God is good! This project was made possible because of a donor that wanted to make a difference in the lives of our students.

Lunch order is to be placed with the homeroom teacher each day.

$5.00 for Middle School

All meals are vegetarian

Monday - Pasta with red or white sauce, garlic bread, salad and juice.

Tuesday - Pupusas, rice, beans, salad, salsa and juice.

Wednesday - Haystack (taco salad), and juice or milk.

Thursday - Chicken nuggets, mashed potatoes, gravy, steamed vegetables, bread and juice.

Grandparents Day - hotdog, french fries, fruit, and juice or milk.
