Dear Steck Families,

I hope you are enjoying the summer!

I am sharing some summer information now in case it is helpful to you. I will be in touch with you again in late July as we approach the new school year.

✅ If you have not completed your registration for next year, please submit it as soon as possible. If your child will not attend Steck next year, please call the Steck office to let us know. 630.375.3500

✅ Grades 2-5: If you have not yet paid for your student planner, please do so as soon as you can. The cost is $5 and payment can be made through PushCoin.

*While students are participating in the screener, parents are invited to attend an optional session in the MPR on kindergarten readiness with Dr. Pohlmann (principal), Ms. Kapetina (psychologist), and Ms. Malloy (social worker).

August 12 Meet the Teacher 8:15-9:15 a.m. - Visit your child's classroom and meet the teacher!

August 13 Kindergarten Classroom Orientation (student last name A-L) 4:30-5:00 p.m.

August 13 Kindergarten Classroom Orientation (student last name M-Z) 5:15-5:45 p.m.

August 17 First Day of School (K-5) 9:05 a.m.-3:35 p.m.

August 19 First Late Start Wednesday - school starts ten minutes later every Wednesday. This allows for teacher professional development meetings before school.

September 2 Curriculum Night 6:30-7:30 p.m. - Learn more about the curriculum for your child's grade level

September 4 School Picture Day

September 24 Elementary School Early Release Day - School will dismiss at 1:00 p.m. Students will have lunch and transportation will be provided to bus-eligible students.

Elementary School Early Release Days

District 204 will have three days in the 26.27 school year that are early release for elementary school students. The purpose of these early release days is to allow teachers for data review and instructional planning. The dates are September 24, December 15, and February 4. This information was added to the calendar after registration opened so you may have an out of date district calendar. The updated calendar, including the early release days, is here. Students will dismiss at 1:00. We will follow our normal dismissal plan on these days. Bus transportation will be available for bus-eligible students. Our school will not have after school care on these days, unless you are signed up for the Right At School Program. Students will have lunch and recess while at school.
