Caragher's Corner
Good Afternoon Parents/Guardians,
Happy New Year! I hope that the holiday break was refreshing and enjoyable for all. While these breaks are always enjoyable and relaxing, it is good to get back to the schedule and daily routines of life at a school.
As is noted below, the ConVal School District websites have been updated. As of today, 1/5/24, the new sites are live and running. While the old sites may remain up, the information that is on those sites will quickly become outdated. Please make the adjustment in your book marks to the https://gbs.conval.edu/conval.edu site.
Do you like cooking, preparing food, or eating food? The Conricopia Project is having a after school cooking club for kids at GBS. There is a $10 per class fee (scholarships avialbe) and we need at least five more students who are interested. See the flyer below!
Reminder, please contact the bus company related to bus switches. We are not able to approve these due to the number of students on different busses.
Have a great weekend!
Adam Caragher, Principal ~ GBS
Important Announcement from ConVal School District
The ConVal School District is proud to announce the launch of a new, advanced website to further strengthen communications with parents and community stakeholders. The website update offers users an array of innovative features, including an easy way to toggle between school and district news, an online calendar showing school and district events in one integrated view, as well as one-button access to frequently used items like meal menus, online payments, and the PowerSchool parent portal. Designed with a mobile-first approach in mind, the website can be downloaded to smartphones as a secure app. ConVal's Superintendent Dr. Kimberly Rizzo Saunders noted: "The new website marks a significant improvement that allows us to communicate more effectively with the public and provides new opportunities to engage parents in our school communities." The website is set to go live officially on January 5.

Around the Bobcat World
This week was a busy week in science for seventh graders. Students made and observed different types of mixtures with water, oil, vinegar and food coloring. They also separated a breakfast mixture using magnets. Ask your student what the difference is between heterogeneous and homogeneous mixtures? Also, can you guess what they were able to separate from cereal?
Boys basketball hitting the gym for practice.
Consolidation/Reconfiguration
As many of you are aware, the School Board has contracted an organization related to the potential consolidation and reconfiguration of the ConVal School District. Here is the link to the School Board homepage that has more information to share.
