There's a Sunflower in My Supper! There's a Sunflower in My Supper!

Fabulous KS1 and Early Years School Play! Fabulous KS1 and Early Years School Play!

Nursery, Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 were delighted to present their end of year musical last week ‘There’s a Sunflower in my Supper!’ An expert cast of narrators and actors told the story of Daisy the Cow who wanted to grow something to eat and was told by the other animals only to buy grass seeds. But on her way home from the market, Daisy found another seed and – with a little help from a wise old owl – managed to grow her very own sunflower! Year 2 took the leading roles, including Daisy and her friends, the angry Mr Bull and some market traders (getting into good practice for the market stall in Year 3?!) and showed great confidence in their acting skills! Year 1 and Reception’s birds, bees, butterflies and other creatures performed some wonderful songs and dances to create the feeling of being out in the countryside. Nursery represented a row of sunflowers with their song and dance to ‘We Sowed a Seed’ which was a lovely conclusion to both afternoon performances! Thank you to all those who came to watch the performances and a huge well done to the children and staff of Early Years and KS1 for a superb team effort to produce a memorable show!

Year 5 Market Stall Year 5 Market Stall

On Thursday, Year 5 proudly showcased their creativity and entrepreneurial spirit at Ripon Market, running a vibrant and welcoming stall filled with their own hand-designed t-shirts and tote bags.

Working in small groups, every child took on a range of important roles — from managing the stall and engaging with customers to presenting and selling their unique products. The children spoke with confidence and enthusiasm, sharing the inspiration behind their designs and explaining how each item was made. They also impressed customers with fascinating facts about the rainforest animals featured in their artwork.

We’re thrilled to share that every single t-shirt and tote bag was sold — with many happy customers leaving the stall with big smiles! The children were fantastic ambassadors for our school, demonstrating exceptional teamwork, creativity, and communication skills throughout the morning.

Next week, we’ll reveal the total amount raised. The children will then combine this with funds from their recent bake sale and make an exciting decision about how the money will be spent. We can’t wait to see what they choose! Thank you for all your support.

Year 3 Market Stall Year 3 Market Stall

On Thursday, Year 3 sold fresh and delicious sandwiches on Ripon Market as part of this term’s DT project. They designed, priced, bought ingredients and prepared the sandwiches before selling at our very own market stall. All the children were excellent ambassadors for the school and loved the experience! The children raised over £100 which will go towards some new playtime equipment for all the children in school to enjoy.

Stars of the Week Stars of the Week

Congratulations to this week's stars:

Nursery - All the Nursery children for working hard learning the songs and actions for the production and having the confidence to stand on the stage to perform.

Reception - Axel for continuing to challenge himself in different areas of the provision and trying really hard to write his morning sentences with the correct letter formation.

Year 1 - the whole class for their amazing participation in the school summer production!

Year 2 - Jack for the incredible resilience and confidence he showed during our play rehearsals and performances. Taking the stage in front of an audience is no easy task, but Jack embraced the challenge with courage and determination. He should be so proud of himself!

Year 3 - Edward for his fantastic contribution to sandwich making, getting involved in making and selling with his team. We are really proud of him.

Year 4 - Rosie for demonstrating brilliant resilience with challenging multi-step maths problems. She is also always friendly and polite.

Year 5 - Arlo for always trying his best and being an amazing role model.

Year 6 - for fantastic results. Well done, everyone!

Congratulations to our most recent Reading Monsters and Stars! Congratulations to our most recent Reading Monsters and Stars!

Transition Morning Transition Morning

Last Wednesday, the children spent the morning in their new classes getting to know their new teachers, and in some cases new friends. We welcomed some of our brand new starters into our Reception class to join those moving up from Nursery, as the children shared a Teddy Bear’s picnic. We even had our very youngest children – the new Nursery cohort for September – visiting for a taster session. It was a great chance for all the children to try out their new routines and find their new classrooms. On Wednesday 17th September we will be holding our Open Classrooms session after school which will give all parents chance to meet their child’s class teacher. However, if you have any questions before then, please do get in touch via email.
