Superintendent's Message

Dear JUHSD Community,

First week of school is on the books! Woot!! I can already feel that the 22-23 school year is going to be awesome!

I visited all of our schools this week and saw amazing things happening! We strive to provide access, opportunity, and inclusion, so that all who are here know they belong. I was heartened to see evidence of this mission everywhere I went. From cheerleading teams welcoming students with claps and chants, to student leaders from ASB and community service programs assisting students with opening their lockers and guiding them to their classrooms, inclusion is evident within our JUHSD community.

Though getting back into a daily routine can often prove challenging, the students and staff of JUHSD have done a great job this week! I encourage you to have a restful weekend and we will see you back at your sites this coming Monday for the start of week two!

Warmly,

Toni Presta

Superintendent

COVID Response Update

As mentioned in last week's Community Update, we would like to remind you of updated guidance in regards to our COVID-19 response:

  • In accordance with the latest CDPH guidance, weekly PCR testing will no longer be offered. Sites will provide take-home self rapid tests upon student request.

  • If you test positive, you are required to fill out this form and follow the current guidance found here.

  • The wearing of masks indoors is highly recommended and masks be provided for students upon request.

  • Water fountains will be in use again this year.

  • HVAC systems, along with CO2 sensors, have been installed by LifeWings in all schools to monitor air quality.

Positive cases reported to the District will be added to the COVID Dashboard and we will send home bi-weekly notices to families regarding cases at sites.
