Judy Center Early Learning Hub
at Sudlersville Elementary School
Welcome Back to School!!
Welcome Back to School Everyone! We were so pleased to meet old and new friends during Pre-K Conferences. Everyone received a Judy Center bag filled with a "Welcome to Pre-K" activity pack and several books!
It was so much fun being a part of the recent scavenger hunt during "SES Meet and Greet!" We met so many new families with young children and hope they join us for future playgroups and other activities! Thank you SES for placing the Judy Center classroom on the scavenger hunt. It was a huge success!
Our first playgroup for the month will be held on September 3rd where we will begin with the "All About Me" theme. On September 5th, we will be joined by Tina Squibb from Univ. of Maryland-SNAP-Ed. Program to begin our year with a "Water Campaign" kick-off! Then, on Sept. 5th, Ms. Elizabeth and Ms. Cindy will be hosting one more orientation during the "SES Back to School" event where we will review the following: 1)program curriculum, 2)communication methods to keep families informed of programming and events, and 3)program expectations.
Please take a moment to review the monthly calendar and flyers and "save the dates" for all the fun learning activities and events being held during the month of September. We look forward to another great year with all our playgroup friends and their families.

Hispanic Heritage Month is celebrated each year from September 15th - October 15th. It began as a week-long celebration in 1968 under President Johnson and expanded to a month long celebration by President Reagan 20 years later in 1988. National Hispanic Heritage Month traditionally honors the cultures and contributions of both Hispanic and Latino Americans as we celebrate heritage rooted in all Latin American countries. Notable Hispanic and Latino Americans include: Cesar Chavez, Dolores Huerta, Dr. Ellen Ochoa, Sonia Sotomayor, Luis Alvarez, Roberto Clemente, Cheech Marin, Macario Garcia, Rita Moreno, Rita Hayworth, Jennifer Lopez, Cameron Diaz, Luis Miguel, Luis Fonsi, Christina Aguilera, and so many more.
