Hello, Trojan Families!

I am absolutely thrilled to write to you today as the new principal of Lake Worth High School. Over the last few weeks, I’ve had the chance to meet some of our incredible staff and students, and I can already tell that our Trojan family is something truly special. I couldn't be more excited to join this amazing team.

To give you a little background on me: I’ve spent over 20 years in education, working right here in our West Palm Beach and Lake Worth communities. Most recently, I spent five wonderful years as the principal of Palm Springs Middle School. On a personal note, I’m also a proud mom of two boys, so I know firsthand just how fast these high school years fly by—and how incredibly important they are.

My goal? To make sure every single one of our students feels supported, builds their confidence, and leaves Lake Worth High fully ready to take on the world, whether they're heading to college or straight into a great career.

As we gear up for an amazing year ahead, I want to share a few quick updates and an important safety reminder:

Important Safety Update: Clear or Mesh Backpacks Only

To keep our campus as safe as possible, all students will be required to use clear or mesh backpacks this year—no exceptions.

• Need a backpack? We’ve got you covered! We will have compliant clear and mesh bags available for purchase during our upcoming schedule pick-up days.

To help maintain a safe and secure learning environment, Lake Worth Community High School will require all backpacks brought onto campus to be either clear or mesh beginning this school year.

Students who choose to bring a backpack to school must ensure it meets this requirement. We encourage families to purchase a compliant backpack before the first day of school to help ensure a smooth start to the year.

Planning to play sports at Lake Worth Community High School this year? We've made it easier than ever to get everything you need completed in one convenient evening!

Join us for Athletic Physical Night, where students and families can complete the required sports physicals and paperwork needed for athletic participation during the 2026–2027 school year. This event is designed to help families avoid the stress of scheduling multiple appointments so student-athletes are ready for tryouts and competition from day one

Be sure to check out the flyer for event details and RSVP for your family today! Attached is the activity form in case you would like to fill it out prior and speed up your time on campus; however, hard copies will also be available in person. Additionally, if a parent is unable to attend, but you would like your scholar to still receive a physical the minor consent form will need to be signed. You may have already heard the exciting news—Lake Worth High School has welcomed new Head Football Coach LeVon "Von" Barnett Jr. and an energized coaching staff who are committed to building a winning culture and transforming Trojan Football.

Coach Barnett and his staff are focused on developing student-athletes both on and off the field, creating a program built on discipline, accountability, teamwork, and pride. This is more than just a new season—it's the beginning of a movement.

If your scholar is interested in becoming part of the next chapter of Trojan Football, now is the time to get involved! Football tryouts will take place at the end of July, and all athletic paperwork must be completed before participating. Don't miss the opportunity to be part of something special. Reach out to Coach Barnett for information on tryouts, eligibility requirements, and athletic clearance.

As we prepare for an outstanding school year at Lake Worth High School, we want to remind all students and families that the school day begins promptly at 7:30 a.m. Students are expected to be in their classrooms and ready to learn when the bell rings. Arriving late disrupts learning for both the student and the class, so please plan accordingly to ensure students arrive on campus with enough time to get to class.

Please note that tardies will result in disciplinary consequences in accordance with the Palm Beach County School District Student Code of Conduct. Building positive attendance habits and arriving on time each day are essential to student success.

Please review the daily bell schedule below and keep it handy throughout the school year. We also encourage families to review the 2026–2027 Palm Beach County School District Calendar, which includes important dates such as school holidays, teacher workdays, Thanksgiving Break, Winter Break, Spring Break, and other days when school is not in session. Planning ahead helps ensure students maximize every instructional day.
