Dear Parents and Guardians,

I thank you for trusting your children to us. It's hard to believe that we have accomplished 6 weeks of instruction and are committed to continue tackling areas for improvement "to watch us soar".

Congratulations to our very own custodian, Ramon Romo, who has been at Dr. Green for 29 years, as he was promoted to Assistant the Head Custodian position He will continue serving our school and we are very proud of his accomplishment.

Congratulations one more time to our Cheer Squad. Their performance at half-time last week's UTEP game was outstanding.

Recommendations or reminders for the safety of our students, families, faculty and staff:

1. Use the crosswalks.
2. Pets (dogs, cats, birds etc.) are not allowed in any school grounds.
3. Students are being dropped off earlier than 7:30 am and/or leaving them outside in front of the school unattended. Our staff is scheduled to begin their work shift at 7:30 when our doors open. If you believe your child needs access to our school before that time, please reach out to Grace Gonzalez, our extended school daycare manager, to seek out daycare services. We will contact you for a personal conference to discuss ways we can support you if your child is left unattended.

Parent Teacher conferences are happening on Tuesday, September 16 from 1:00 to 6:00 pm. If you have not yet scheduled a time with your teachers, please connect with them to secure a time slot. We've love to see you this Tuesday.

REMEMBER: To accommodate conferences we have an Early Release Day. All students will be dismissed at 12:00 pm. Please make necessary arrangements for a prompt pick up. THERE IS NO INTRAMURALS MEET ON THIS DAY.

Fall Intersession days are coming up on October 8, 9, and 10. Following by the Fall Break on October 13 to 17 when the district is closed. For fall intersession days, your teachers will be sending invites according to student's needs. Please ask your teachers about it during your PT conferences.

Coronado's homecoming week is here! This year we are joining their activities as follows:

• The spirit week dress up days calendar is shown in the picture below. We encourage all students to join in the fun.
• ***There is a choice for TUESDAY, Sept. 16 as we are also joining in the celebration of the Hispanic Heritage Month, children may wear any Hispanic soccer jerseys, folkloric tops or dresses etc.
• The parade is this Wednesday, September 17 at 6:00 pm. We are calling for any volunteers to help us decorate our float as soon as tomorrow. Coronado's theme is Disney and our school's theme is The Pirates of the Caribbean. We hope your children can join us to parade in our float, you can support us in our decorating efforts, or you can donate candy to give out to parade spectators. Please confirm your participation with Parent Liaison Nairobi Guillen for additional information and precise schedule. If you are donating candy, please send it with your children or drop it off at our main office. We truly appreciate your kindness.
