Dear Brentwood Middle School Families,
We did it! Last night, Ms. Gardner (6th grade math teacher), Owen Bagby (8th grade WEB Leader), and I (proud principal), presented our request to the school board they passed Resolution No. 7312 with a vote of 7 - 0 in favor of our new name and mascot. We are officially the Brentwood Middle School Bears! A special thank you to the entire renaming committee made up of Site Council, PTA, WEB Leaders, Student Senate, and Beth Gardner, Lindsey Sullivan, Mindy Peabody, and LeeAnn Hammett. It was a team effort but we could not have done it without the engagement of our alumni, their families, our current students, families, staff, and community partners. THANK YOU!

This summer we will be working on plan to expand our usual welcome back BBQ to a grand reopening that will include a celebration of who we were and who we want to be in the coming years. Our 100th year will be the best one yet! Please take a moment to follow our socials so you can stay current on these plans.
The next steps for us will be working with PPS Comms to create our new mascot logo and identify our school colors - all ideas will be put to a vote of our community before being finalized. We are so excited by all the possibilities! The image above was created by Ms. Gardner with the help of AI so we could see what it will look like, but it won't happen for some years. We will be working with facilities to see what is possible so that we can project our new identify proudly for the community to see.
