• We met our new teachers and classmates.
• We said the Pledge and sang the school song as an entire school.
• We played on our brand new playground.
• We enjoyed the new recess balls, outdoor toys, and Four Square in the Air game which were all generously purchased by our PTA. Thank you to the PTA for helping make recess even more fun for our Builta Badgers!
• We participated in classroom meetings and began building connections with one another.
• We enjoyed our first lunch and recess together.
• We rode the bus or walked to school.
• We gathered for our first all-school assembly to learn about the 3 R’s—Respect for Self, Others, and Property—as well as Stop, Walk, and Talk; Blue Tickets; the Bugs and Brags Box; and our schoolwide behavior expectations.
• We held our first PTA meeting in which the PTA shared the budget as well as their calendar for the school year.

We have had an amazing start to the school year! We can't wait to see what the following months have to bring.

A big thank-you to our amazing PTA and parent volunteers for providing a delicious back-to-school breakfast for our staff! It was a wonderful way to begin the school year, and the extra snacks kept us energized throughout the week. We truly appreciate your generosity and all the joy you bring to the Builta community!

• Our Parent-Only Curriculum Night is on Monday, August 24. Classroom teachers look forward to welcoming Parents in order to share about grade level curriculum, classroom routines and expectations, and the exciting experiences planned for the year ahead.

• Parents will choose to attend one of two sessions for their children's grade level.

  
  

  • 6:00 pm - 6:25 pm

  or

  • 6:35 pm - 7:00 pm.

  
  

  Please note that Curriculum Night is an event only for parents. Please plan to have child-care for your children on this night.

Indian Prairie School District 204 administers i-Ready benchmark assessments in the fall, winter, and spring to students in kindergarten through eighth grade. The i-Ready assessments evaluate student academic performance and growth in the areas of reading and mathematics.

Builta students will take the fall iReady benchmark assessments August 31 - September 18.
