We’re celebrating Board of Education Appreciation Week, a time to say thank you to the leaders who help guide our schools every day. Our Board has been recognized as an Exemplary School Board for eleven consecutive years by the Georgia School Boards Association. This is a big honor that reflects their commitment to students. To say thank you, here's a video A/V students made to celebrate the hard work our Board of Education puts in every day for our school.

Reality U Needs Community Volunteers Reality U Needs Community Volunteers

Students get the chance to learn budgeting, bills, and big decisions through a program called Reality U—and we need your help.

Reality U is a one-day, hands-on simulation that shows students what life is like after high school. Each student is given a future career, income, and family situation. Students then move through different stations, like housing, transportation, food, and childcare. Students learn how to manage a budget and make real-world choices. Community volunteers help guide students through these decisions and answer questions along the way. That's where you come in!

You do not have to be a professional in any of these areas! You don’t need any special training—everything you need is provided. Reality U takes place in two shifts—morning and afternoon—and volunteers can choose the time that works best for them. If you’re interested in helping students prepare for the future, we'd love to have you.

Important Update: Student Attendance Focus and Resources Important Update: Student Attendance Focus and Resources

Dear Parents and Guardians,

I am writing to update you on a significant focus emerging from our state legislature that directly

impacts our schools and students.

The Georgia House and Senate have just concluded extensive hearings regarding student

attendance. Legislators and education leaders across the state have recognized that consistent

school attendance is critical for student success. The Senate Study Committee on Combating

Chronic Absenteeism and the House Study Committee on Student Attendance have both

examined this issue closely, hearing from experts and families about the vital role attendance

plays in education.

You can view the findings from the Senate Study Committee here:

Senate Study Committee on Combating Chronic Absenteeism in Schools Adopts Final Committee Report

ATLANTA (November 24, 2025) — The Senate Study Committee on Combating Chronic Absenteeism in Schools, chaired by Sen. John F. Kennedy (R–Macon), has voted unanimously to adopt its final report, offering key recommendations to address chronic absenteeism in Georgia’s schools. Ā

As a result of this legislative focus, we anticipate renewed attention and guidance from the

Georgia Department of Education (GaDOE) that will trickle down to all school districts, including

ours.

Attendance is not just about compliance; it is about preparation for life. Much of the learning that

takes place in our classrooms is "hands-on" and interactive, involving collaboration with peers

and direct instruction from teachers. This type of learning cannot simply be "made up" with a

worksheet. Consistent attendance builds the habits of reliability and responsibility that our

students will need in their future careers.

We are proud to share that Catoosa County Public Schools currently maintains an attendance

rate higher than the state average. This is a testament to your dedication and partnership.

However, there is always room for improvement. Our goal is to ensure every student has the

maximum opportunity to learn and grow every single day.

To support this goal, we want to remind you of two key resources:

CCPS Policies: Detailed attendance procedures, including the distinction between

excused and unexcused absences, as well as the protocol for submitting excuses, are

outlined in the CCPS Student Handbook. We encourage you to review these procedures

to ensure you are familiar with the expectations.

Real-Time Tracking (Parent Portal): You can track your child’s attendance (and

grades) in real-time through the free Campus Parent app. This app links directly to your

child’s student information in Infinite Campus, providing you with immediate access to

your child's daily record.

How to Get the App:

  • Download: Search for "Campus Parent" in the Apple App Store or Google Play Store.
  • Setup Guide: For detailed instructions on how to set up your account, please visit the CCPS Technology Department page below.

If you have any questions regarding attendance policies or need help accessing the Parent

Portal, please do not hesitate to contact our front office. Thank you for your continued partnership in making our School a place where every child

succeeds.

SOCCER SOCCER

Last Tuesday the boys and girls soccer team started off region play against Union County. The girl's team lost their game 2-0. However, the boys won their game 4-0 with a hat trick by Will Burgess an additional goal by Xander Strawbridge. Tonight both teams play at home against Murray County.

BASEBALL BASEBALL

Baseball travelled to the University of Tennessee at Knoxville to play against Cleveland. They did lose that game but what an amazing opportunity to play on the home stadium of the 2024 Baseball National Champions. Then the team played at Ooltewah, winning that game 10-0. The baseball team plays next against Ooltewah at home.

TRACK TRACK

The track team started off their season last night with a meet at Sonoraville. At this meet they competed 2 region opponents in Sonoraville and Coahulla Creek. Tomorrow the track team competes in 13th Annual Southeast High School Invitational's.

TENNIS TENNIS

On Wednesday they played Murray County away and the girls brought home the win. On Thursday they play LFO at home and both the boys and girls teams won. Next week they play Coahulla Creek on Tuesday at home and at Rockmart on Thursday. Come out and support the team!
