OHS Fab Lab Explores Biomedical Engineering in Action

In the Engineering and Inventions class, students are diving into the biomedical engineering unit with a hands-on project that simulates real-world medical innovation. Using the resources of the Fab Lab, they begin by breaking a turkey femur, then utilize 3D scanning technology to capture its structure. From there, they design and model replacement parts in CAD to repair the break, gaining valuable experience in both engineering design and biomedical applications.

Building Knowledge: Learning Research Methods with Legos

Students in Intro to Psychology had fun playing with Legos and learning about research methods. Each group was tasked with building something out of Legos and writing down the directions or drawing a picture. Groups then had to switch Legos and try to rebuild them using the directions. The point was that if the directions (operational definitions in research and experiments) aren't clear and detailed, it is very difficult to replicate.

A Night of Music

The Omro School District's annual A Night of Music brought an evening of exceptional talent to the PAC on Tuesday, March 18. Students from across the district showcased their musical abilities, captivating the audience with a variety of performances. Between acts, guests enjoyed a delicious dinner featuring salad, spaghetti, breadsticks, and an impressive selection of desserts. A few highlights of the night included a clarinet duet of Presto Assai by high school students Scarlet and Kaia, a heartfelt guitar and vocal performance of Last Night on Earth by Hadley, and a beautiful piano rendition of Merry-Go-Round of Life by Kaia. Calculus Celebrates Pi Day!

Calculus students celebrated Pi Day with enthusiasm and creativity! Each student crafted their own unique "pie," making for a tough competition. In the end, Brooklyn took the win by just one point with a delicious Caramel Apple pie. The judging process was just as exciting—teachers had to earn their spot on the panel through fun and creative applications, including poems, raps, a written rap battle, videos, t-shirts, and even a poster. It was a fantastic celebration filled with friendly rivalry, delicious treats, and plenty of Pi Day spirit!

Ag in the Classroom

Tuesday, March 18, was National Ag Day, a time to recognize and celebrate the hardworking farmers, ranchers, and agricultural workers who play a vital role in keeping our country fed. In honor of this special day, Omro FFA members engaged with young students by reading agriculture-related books to 4K through 5th-grade students at Patch and OES. Through this activity, they helped educate and inspire the next generation about the importance of agriculture, fostering an appreciation for the industry that sustains our communities.

If you'd like to share any kudos or gratitude for our high school staff, please use this form to submit your positive comments and help us celebrate their great work!
