First Grade Newsletter- Week 7

Dear 1st Grade Parents,

This week, we welcomed Mrs. Giusti back to our learning community! Thank you to all of you for your support, understanding, and empathy during this time. The kids were so warm and welcoming to Sandi—just what she needed.

In math, we tackled addition and subtraction. It takes time for students to fully grasp the meaning behind these mathematical operations, so we will continue to dive into the meaning behind the symbols and build their number sense in the weeks to come.

In writing, students began a narrative project using the photos you sent in. Thank you so much for your help with this! These personal photos have provided wonderful inspiration for our young authors.

In reading, we worked in small groups to meet the individual needs of each learner and support their continued growth.

We look forward to meeting with you all soon to discuss your child’s unique learning journey. Mrs. Ray’s class has already received their sign-up information, and Mrs. Giusti’s class will receive theirs soon!
