August 17 - Open House + School Pictures, 3pm - 7pm

Congratulations to Lily Andrasko, 6th grade, received a first place ribbon in this year’s St. Louis Science Fair, including a small MOST scholarship and award from the Air and Waste Management Association. Her project was entitled, “Urban vs. Rural Air Pollution.” Great job Lily! We are so proud of your accomplishment!

Students who lost an item (or two or three or four) should visit the lost and found to claim their lost items. Items that are not claimed by next Friday, May 26 (last day of school) will be donated.

Thanks to Hixson's PTO, all students will get a free Kona Ice on Friday, May 26th! Students may bring cash if they would like to upgrade their size. Thank you, PTO!

The Webster Groves Police Department has challenged our 8th grade kickball champions (Mr. Rachal's Statesman Time) to a kickball game! You can view their challenge video below. The game will take place on May 25! We are looking forward to building community with the WGPD! What a nice addition to our end of the year festivities!

Chromebook collection is almost complete and fines are being applied to accounts, if applicable. Please note, your student will not be issued another Chromebook for next year until all fines (ie: library, 6th grade camp, Chromebook, etc) are resolved. This applies to rising 9th graders as well. We will provide documentation of all equipment that your student turned in at the time of collection. Parents/guardians will receive this documentation as well.

Please be aware, Chromebook insurance will be required for all school issued Chromebooks next school year (23-24). Your student will not receive a Chromebook until fines are cleared and the insurance fee is paid. Students may use their own device if they choose.

Please be aware that all 2023/2024 8th grade students are required to submit proof that a meningococcal conjugate vaccine (MCV) and a tetanus booster (Tdap) has been received after the age of 10.

According to the State of Missouri and WGSD Board of Education policy, documentation regarding this vaccination is required to attend 8th grade. Exemption cards from St. Louis County Department of Public Health are also acceptable forms of documentation.

Your child can receive this vaccine from your regular healthcare provider, any of the St. Louis County Department of Public Health locations and most Walgreens/CVS locations. Should you choose to have your child vaccinated at St. Louis County Department of Public Health, please bring your child’s vaccination record and a letter from me available upon request. The vaccine is routinely given at the 11 year check up so if you believe your child has already received this dose of the vaccine, please obtain that documentation and send it to me via fax, email, or mail.

We ask that the vaccination record be turned in to the nurse's office no later than August 1, 2023.
