Gifted Referral Gifted Referral

If you suspect your child may demonstrate characteristics of giftedness and would like them to be considered for Gifted & Talented (GT) identification, please complete the Gifted Referral Form below.

Submitting a referral does not automatically result in gifted identification. The referral provides permission for our GT team to begin collecting and reviewing multiple sources of data to develop a Body of Evidence (BOE). This may include assessment results, classroom performance, teacher and parent input, and other relevant information. Please keep in mind that the identification process takes time as we work to collect sufficient evidence to make a thoughtful and informed decision.

Please click the link below to begin the referral process. If you have questions, feel free to contact me.

Student ID number (lunch number) is required to complete this form. Please have it ready. We recommend using the Google Chrome browser, if available. If you are a parent/guardian completing this form, you will be initiating the Gifted Identification process for your student to include all necessary evaluations (e.g., cognitive, achievement, observation & performance). *Within 30 school days, the Gifted Education Facilitator will reach out to confirm receipt of this referral form as well as provide updates and potential next steps.

Who is the Gifted and Talented Facilitator? Who is the Gifted and Talented Facilitator?

With 24 years in education, I’m excited to continue serving South Ridge as the GT Facilitator. Over the years, I’ve worn many hats—gifted facilitator, interventionist, coach, and double specials instructor—and have taught 1st, 4th, 5th, and 6th grade. My professional background includes a Master’s in Curriculum, a Gifted and Talented Endorsement, and a Principal’s License. Every step of my journey has been guided by one goal: helping students recognize and develop their unique strengths.

At the heart of my teaching philosophy is the belief that passion and purpose drive learning. I love working with a wide range of learners and building an environment where curiosity, creativity, and critical thinking can thrive. My greatest joy is seeing students discover their abilities and grow confident in their talents.

When I’m not at school, I enjoy life’s adventures—reading a good book, tackling a puzzle, traveling to new places, or sharing a meal out. I’m blessed with a wonderful husband, five adult children, two sweet grandbabies, and three lively dogs who keep life interesting.

I believe education opens doors to endless possibilities, and I never stop learning myself. Each year, I look forward to finding new ways to inspire, support, and empower students.

Thank you for visiting my site. Here you’ll find resources, ideas, and a window into my world as an educator who is passionate about growth, opportunity, and the power of learning. Let’s make this year one filled with discovery and inspiration!
