Brown Middle School Gives Back!

The Brown Middle School Student Council hosted a Blankets for Chemotherapy event on Saturday, April 13th, and it turned out to be an amazing success! It was a high honor to work side-by-side with students, parents and fellow teachers on this project. Getting to know students and other community members in a non-academic environment allows each of us to make connections and support each other in a worthwhile way that perpetuates personal growth. This event was initiated by the BMS Student Council but was opened up to students, parents and teachers who were interested in being involved. There were a variety of ways to serve. For example, some chose to donate material for the project, while others donated their time and hands to making the blankets.

Lady Bears Soccer

Lady bears started off the season with a win and a tie versus Royse City.

7th grade girls dominated the game and scored two goals to make the final score 2-0. Juliana Vasquez scored the first goal. She scored unassisted winning the ball off a goal kick. During the second half Kayla Talkington crossed the ball in from the corner and Juliana Vasquez put it in the back of the net. Our defense was strong and helped lead the shutout.

8th grade girls came out strong and ended up with a tie. After the first half we were down 1-0 but came out with a fire and ended up putting one in the back of the net. Mattie Mosier scores the goal for the lady bears unassisted. Our midfield was solid and the defense learned to work together and trust each other!

This season started off with one of the more skilled teams in our conference and the lady bears came out strong! I’m excited to see what the future hold for these young ladies.

We play at home next week and look to keep building our winning record
