Join Lori Haas to hear about the Phase Two Expansion of the Regency Facility and how it will benefit NOVA families, our outreach partners and the greater Henrico community. After a brief presentation, take a tour “behind the walls” and check out the unfinished space on the second floor. There will be time for Q&A and information on how to pledge or donate as we all work together to ELEVATE NOVA. All groups will be invited, no need to sign up.

Decades of Dominance
The Power of Connection
The most significant, dare I say most important, characteristic for success we have discussed as a staff is connection. I recently came across the following quote in a book I was reading on being a champion teammate. It struck me to the core and says it all.
None of us, including me, ever do great things. But we can do small things, with great love, and together we can do something wonderful. - Mother Teresa
I am constantly humbled to be where I am but am continually blessed by the connections that have helped me on my journey. It is my connection with my faith and family that provides the foundation to each day. It is my connection with numerous mentors over my career and those that I work with today that has allowed me to become the coach and leader I am today. It is my connection with my swimmers that fills my heart as I help them grow and watch them realize success.
This quote from Mother Teresa also captures NOVA’s story over the years. It is the small things, the gifts of time, effort and resources, given with great love, that have created the “something wonderful” that is NOVA. The staff, the facilities, the board of trustees are here today because of the connections that have been slowly and faithfully tended to over the years. The circle of giving and the connection that brings serves as the foundation for all that we do.
Individually, the small connections into which we pour ourselves each day matter the most. The swimmer’s connection with their teammates gives them a reason to come to practice every day, can help lift them up after a tough swim and make each success that much sweeter when it is shared with a friend. The swimmer’s connection with their coach lays the foundation of trust that will grow their skills in the water. A parent’s connection with a coach can help them help their swimmer mature in the sport and in life. When we have a partner with whom we can walk through the unknown we can realize more than we ever expected.
Opportunities lay in front of us each day to realize the power of connection. I challenge you to find the power of connection here at NOVA and to see where we can go together!

Practice Performer of the Week
On the 13&Over side, the @orthovirginia PPOW is Caleb Stuhlmacher, from Senior Gold! Caleb has been a true stand out at nearly every practice over the last week. His consistency in picking harder intervals and taking on extra challenges is going to take him far! Toughness like that has PPOW written all over it. Keep it up, Caleb!
The 12&Under @orthovirginia PPOW is Nivedh Ala, from Age Group Silver! Nivedh has been a super consistent hard worker, setting an example for everyone around him on the second interval, and constantly working on bettering his technique. Great job Nivedh!

We are approaching 40% of the team goal with only 3 days to go. If every swimmer who hasn't registered orders 4 cans of peanuts we meet our team goal- PLEASE HELP!
NOVA is offering an online Virginia Diner Peanut Sale through Goalbuster.com as one way to meet your fundraising requirement.
Watch how to register HERE
NOVA’s sale will run from October 7-21.
