"DID YOU KNOW?"
EVERY SCHOOL DAY COUNTS. “Did you know?” As we enter the cold and flu season, healthy classrooms are a priority! Here are some guidelines:
If your child has a fever or is vomiting, keep them home.
If your child has a persistent cough or flu-like symptoms, use your best judgement about whether they should come to school.
If your child is sniffly or tired, they should come to school.
Please communicate that if your child is too sick to come to school, they are probably too sick to play or do fun things at home. Don’t make staying at home too appealing!

Todays memory:
Every year in Kindergarten we play a singing game, Thorn Rosa. This is a singing game with one student acting out the part of Thorn Rosa while the rest of the children form a circle around the character. The children in the circle are singing to the character as the story game plays out. Birdie often came to school in a dress and on this day she was wearing her long white dress. Birdie really wanted to play the part of Thorn Rosa and it was her turn that day. As she stood in the middle of the circle she was overwhelmed at first and reluctant to engage in the part; standing with her head slightly bowed. But as the game progressed and the song took shape, she began to move and sway, eventually taking on the part, twirling and skipping around in the circle of singing children. I just remember her smiling and completely immersed in the moment.

PTA News:
Trunk or Treat
What a night! The weather on Friday certainly brought some tricks, including a double rainbow.
And, our community showed up! A very special thank you to all the volunteers who made this event possible.
Thank you to all the trunk hosts for braving the elements: Aalto family, Byrne family, Austin family, Caldwell family, Thompson family, Perry family, Nellis family, Castañon family, Turbovsky family, Giordano family, Ortega family, Cabatic family (hosted not one but two trunks!),
and the Craft family. This event wouldn't have been possible without such a great chair, Jaime Casta Mah and the most committed committee: Jenna Starr, Kelly Jacobs, Melissa Moore, Megan Mackin, Jesse Martinez, Tammy Ortega and Lori Kitching-Dweck.
Last but not least, thank you to our anonymous pizza donor for making the night even more delicious!
