Drop-off & Pick Up Protocols Drop-off & Pick Up Protocols

Early Dismissal

If you need to pick your child up early for any reason, please pick them up by 3:15 PM. We want to ensure that our dismissal protocols and procedures are followed without any interruptions.

Lunch Delivery

Students are NOT allowed to use any food delivery services (DoorDash, GrubHub, UberEats, etc.) If a parent would like to drop of any food, they should have a prior discussion with their child so they know to come to the office, during their lunch shift, for pick up. Food drop offs will only be received during the students' lunch time. Our staff will NOT deliver food items to students. In addition, students will not be allowed to take food back to class.

Car Service/Ride Sharing

No student will be allowed to use a ride sharing service (Uber/Lyft, etc.) without written permission from the parent or guardian that is listed in our database. There are no exceptions to this.

Mode of Transportation Change

If there is a change in the way that your child is going home, you must notify the front office by 3:15 to make sure that information is shared with your child. Once buses are loaded, students will NOT be removed. This hinders the dismissal process.

Remember to request your student’s immunization record and bring that to your school’s front office or email to the school nurse at judgebb@staffordschools.net

Cell Phone/Device Policy Cell Phone/Device Policy

As we look ahead to the new school year, we want to remind families that Stafford County Public Schools prohibits student cell phone use during the school day. Our goal is to keep the focus entirely on instruction and minimize distractions.

What this looks like at Poole:

  • Arrival: Students must turn off their phones and put them away in their backpacks before entering the building.

  • During the Day: Once inside, all devices—including cell phones, headphones, earbuds, and AirPods, Meta Glasses/AI/Smart Glasses must be stored in student lockers.

  • Hallways & Classrooms: Device use is strictly prohibited in hallways and classrooms during both arrival and dismissal. Students may only use their devices once they have exited the building at the end of the day.

Please continue ongoing conversations with your child about these expectations so they are set up for success on day one. Thank you for your partnership in keeping our learning environment focused and engaged!

Backpacks/Large Purses Backpacks/Large Purses

No backpacks or large purses are allowed during the school day. Those items must be stored in student lockers. Permitted items should not be larger than a student’s agenda (which students will receive by the end of the second week of school).

Safety Drills Safety Drills

For the safety and security of our students, certain drills must take place. We will conduct an evacuation and lockdown drill within the first month of school.

Lockers Lockers

All students will be issued lockers by the end of the 2nd week of school. Student visit their lockers at arrival, midday, and dismissal. Additional times require students to use our electronic hall pass system.
