Dear Paulding County School District Families,
The funeral service for Brandon Cunningham, the Paulding Sheriff’s Deputy who was tragically killed in the line of duty on August 17th, will take place at Westridge Church on Hwy. 92 at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, August 23, 2024. It is anticipated that beginning late Friday morning and through the duration of the service and exit procession, traffic throughout the East Paulding community will be extremely congested. Please plan accordingly.
This Friday, the school district is promoting "Wear Blue for Brandon Day," and all students and staff are encouraged to wear blue to honor the memory of Deputy Cunningham. Out of respect for Deputy Cunningham’s service to our community, parents who wish to check their child(ren) out of school early to attend the ceremony may do so. Student check-outs on Friday, August 23rd will be excused.
In addition to being the parent of two Paulding County School District students, Deputy Cunningham was a hero who gave his life serving and protecting the citizens of Paulding County. Monetary donations to Deputy Cunningham’s family can be made through Paulding Public Safety Appreciation, Inc. (PPSA). PPSA is a 501(c)3 non-profit; all donations are tax-deductible.
