Message from the Principal

Thank you to everyone who participated in our recent conferences. We hope you found them valuable and informative. To help us better understand your experience and improve future conferences, we invite you to complete a brief feedback survey, linked below. It will take about 3-5 minutes to complete.

The survey data will be shared with the Eisenhower Building Leadership Team to help us reflect on the impact of school conferences, consider how they fit into our overall caregiver communication work, and identify opportunities to improve the conference experience for families.

We believe that a strong partnership between families and the school is essential for the success of our students. Your feedback is and important part in helping us create a supportive and effective learning environment.

If you have any questions about the survey, please reach out.

Thank you for your participation and support.

Hopkins Education Foundation News

Hopkins Education Foundation celebrated its 30th anniversary at its annual Royal Bash this past Saturday, March 1, 2025, and it was a big success. The Royal Bash was emceed by Hopkins High School teacher Karl Schroeder with HEF Board Member and Hopkins graduate Betsy Anderson. The event featured a welcome by the new Hopkins mascots and the high school drumline, both of which received grants from HEF. The Royal Bash closed with music from Watson, a band comprised of three Hopkins dads and a Hopkins uncle. About 280 Hopkins parents, community leaders, board members, sponsors, district leaders, and community members gathered at the Metropolitan Ballroom in Golden Valley for the Royal Bash to help raise money to help fund classroom projects for Hopkins teachers and to kickstart a new district special project, Outdoor Opportunities. The Outdoor Opportunities project will spark learning for Hopkins students beyond the traditional classroom, getting them outside and off screens. The project includes trips to Camop Ihduhapi for fifth- and eighth-graders, a camping trip for 120 high schoolers, and camping gear. Through the silent auction, live auction, special appeal, games, and a raffle at the event, HEF exceeded its total goal of $275,000, including fully funding the Outdoor Opportunities project, which had a goal of $65,000. Any future donations to the special project will add to the Outdoor Opportunities fund and lead to future trips, gear, and outdoor learning opportunities for Hopkins students in years to come. You can see more photos from the event, a video about the special project, and donate at https://www.hopkinseducationfoundation.org/Hopkins Education Foundation News

Draft Cell Phone Policy Available for Review

Earlier this year, Hopkins Schools invited families, staff, and secondary students to share their input through a Cell Phone Policy survey. On January 31, we emailed the survey findings to families, and these insights helped shape the draft Cell Phone Policy. The policy outlines district expectations for cell phone use among Elementary, Middle, and High School students. This draft policy will undergo its First Read at the School Board meeting on Tuesday, February 25. If you would like to provide feedback or attend the meeting, we welcome your participation. Pending review, the policy is expected to go before the board for approval on March 11. We appreciate your engagement and feedback in developing this policy.

District-wide Parent and Caregiver Group for Supporting Gender Expansive Kids

Are you the caregiver of a child who transcends traditional binary gender roles? We are offering a supportive, ongoing group for parents and caregivers to ask questions, share ideas, and support one another. Some children may identify as transgender, gender fluid, non-binary, gender queer, gender expansive, or simply move through the world in a much more gender free type of way. Our first meeting of the year will be Thursday, September 26 from 5-6:30 p.m. at North Middle School, Room 506. This is for parents and families from all of Hopkins schools -- and from all grade levels (elementary, middle, and high school, and beyond). Laura Jensen, Hopkins Schools LGBTQ+ Community Liaison will facilitate the meetings. This is not a group to debate the issue, rather for parents looking to support their child. Questions? Email Laura.Jensen@hopkinsschools.org

Dates for Remainder of 24-25 School Year:

April 24, 2024
