If your child is starting kindergarten this year and you’ve received this email, we’re excited to confirm they will be attending West Elementary! If you also have older children at North and/or West Elementary, enrollment details, including each child’s assigned building, are available in FinalForms. Kindergarten teacher assignments will first be shared at the district’s Back-to-School Rally on August 27 (see details in the “Three Things to Know” section). Families can also learn their child’s teacher at open house or by calling the school’s main office after August 27.

Back-to-School Rally

Help us kick off the new school year by joining us at our Back-to-School Rally on Thursday, August 27, from 5-7 p.m. at Midview Middle School! Families can enjoy fun activities; connect with our school departments, Midview groups, and local organizations; grab a bite from local food trucks; and celebrate the year ahead with the Midview community. Students in grades PK-6 will also have the opportunity to learn their teacher assignments!

Please note: Due to student privacy regulations, class lists will not be posted on buses this year. Families attending the Back-to-School Rally can visit our class placement station to learn their child’s teacher assignment. Families who are unable to attend the Rally can learn teacher assignments during their building’s open house. For students in grades 1-12, assignments and schedules will also be available in PowerSchool (after August 27).

Events & Reminders Events & Reminders

3rd & 4th Grade First Day

We are excited to welcome our third and fourth-graders back to campus on September 8!

Kindergarten First Day(s)

To help our youngest learners transition into the school environment with comfort and confidence, we are implementing a soft start to the school year. This gradual start gives students time to adjust in a smaller group setting before joining their full class.
  • September 8: Only students with last names A–L attend
  • September 9: Only students with last names M–Z attend
  • September 10: ALL kindergarten students attend together

Start and End Times

West Elementary School begins at 8:20 a.m. and dismisses at 3:15 p.m. As a reminder, students may enter the building 20 minutes before the school day starts. Staff members will be available to help them find their classrooms, navigate the building, and walk to/from their buses.

Jordane Breha, Principal

It's hard to believe I am beginning my fourth year as principal of Midview West! Before becoming principal, I taught preschool intervention, kindergarten, second grade, and third grade, and also served as the student and family liaison at West. I am a proud Midview alum, so getting to serve the district that helped shape me is incredibly special to me. Once a Middie, always a Middie!

Outside of school, I love spending time with my family, visiting the lake, and reading. My love of reading actually started right here at Midview, thanks to the many amazing teachers who inspired me along the way! My husband and I have two boys, a first grader and a kindergartener, plus Fitz, our giant and very lovable Goldendoodle. I feel incredibly lucky to be part of the West community and cannot wait to welcome your family for another great year!

Bianca Gentile, Student & Family Liaison

I am excited to begin my third year as the Student and Family Liaison at Midview West and to welcome all of our new and returning students and families! Before joining the West team, I taught fifth grade for three years and sixth grade for two years at Midview East. I have also had the opportunity to coach in the district, which has been another great way to connect with our students and families.

Outside of school, I enjoy reading, taking walks, a good cup of coffee, and anything related to volleyball or basketball! I love being part of the West community and am excited for the school year to begin!
