used our imaginations to create things that are not a stick from pipe cleaners.
st Grade: We worked collaboratively in groups to create the longest chain out of a single piece of paper.
nd Grade: We started our first unit “STEM Survival Camp.” We are imagining that we are camping in the woods as second graders it’s their responsibility to protect the food from the creatures and critters in nature. We learned about the proper ways to store food while camping. We are now going to use the engineering design process to create an invention that will keep the food safe while camping.
rd Grade: We started our first unit “STEM Survival Camp.” We are imagining that we are camping in the woods. As 3rd graders their challenge is to create a game. We are now going to use the engineering design process to create a game from recycled materials and items found in nature.
th Grade: They have been challenged to create pillars from paper that can hold up 10 trays. They had to work collaboratively to create rectangular, triangular or circular pillars that can hold up 10 trays.
th Grade: We started our first unit “STEM Survival Camp.” We are imagining that we are camping in the woods. As second graders it’s their responsibility to create a shelter. We are going to use the engineering design process to create a shelter that can withstand different types of weather.
