Weekly update for Peirce Middle School

Dear Peirce Families,

Thank you for such an excellent turnout this past week for our 6th grade Open House. We appreciate your support. This week, we will host our 7th and 8th grade open house on Thursday, September 12 from 6:30-8:30 pm. Families will report directly to their student’s homeroom to start the evening. The night will consist of a stop at each core teacher and a visit to the Unified Arts Fair which is held in the cafeteria and library. Please see the attached invitations below.

Lastly, Peirce will begin their after-school homework club (Champ's Club) on Tuesday, September 10 from 3:00-4:00 p.m. in the library. Champ's Club will meet every Tuesday and Thursday, and all students are welcome. No sign up is required. Please reach out to Dr. Yost (lyost@wcasd.k12.pa.us). Student pick up is at 4:00 p.m. in the front of the school (Flagpole).

News and Notes from Peirce Middle School

Picture Day is coming to Peirce!

Peirce will hold picture day on Friday, September 27. Every student will have their picture taken on this day. No payment is needed on picture day. In roughly two weeks after picture day, students will receive a proof booklet through their homeroom teacher for which families can determine if they would like to order the school pictures. An informational flyer from Barksdale Photos will be shared in the upcoming weeks.

Peirce Post to host information meeting on Friday, September 13 in E 103

Attention, Peirce Students!!

We are looking for new photographers, reporters, writers, graphic artists, and cartoonists to show their Peirce Pride and their unique Voice through lots of Creative Choices. Join the Peirce Post, our online school newspaper this school year. We will have an informational meeting this Friday, September 13 at 7:50 a.m. in E103 or Schoology message Mrs. Eileen Hutchinson, PMS Reading Specialist ehutchinson@wcasd.net.

Best Buddies Club to hold Informational meeting on Tuesday, 9/17 during homeroom

Best Buddies Club will hold their informational meeting during homeroom on Tuesday, September 17. Students must check into homeroom first and then report to the cafeteria for the meeting. Students should bring a signed permission slip to the meeting (See attached). Any Questions may be directed to Mrs. Almodovar at talmodovar@wcasd.k12.pa.us.

Yearbook Club to hold an informational meeting on Friday, September 13 during homeroom

The Yearbook Club will hold an informational meeting on Friday, September 13 during homeroom. Students should report to the back of the cafeteria at 7:50 am. Attendance will be submitted from the meeting. Any questions may be directed to Mr. Gonzalez at kgonzalez@wcasd.k12.pa.us.

West Chester Nation Basketball to host skills and drills this fall

The West Chester varsity boys basketball coaches are teaming up again to offer a Fall skills & drills session on Wednesday night’s in October. During these four sessions, the coaching staff will put the kids through the same drills as our varsity teams do. Children will be grouped by age, gender, and skill. We will primarily focus on skill development during the sessions. Please see the attached flyer for more information.
