TECH TOK - BYTE 27 May 2026
Application Support & Training Team | BYTE 27 May 2026
It is hard to believe how quickly this academic year has flown by! As we step into May, we are incredibly proud of everything our Conroe ISD community has accomplished together. The final weeks of school are always an exciting milestone, but they also require a delicate balance of celebrating successes while carefully closing out the year's operational tasks.
We are here to support every campus and department across the district as we navigate this final stretch. We are working cohesively behind the scenes to ensure that all district systems, digital tools, and hardware transitions are managed smoothly and securely as we prepare for the break.
Think of us as your crew for a seamless departure. We are handling the technical heavy lifting so you can focus on what matters most right now: closing out the year on a high note and sending our students off into a wonderful summer.
Thank you for a spectacular year, and let's make this final month our best one yet!

Eduphoria
🚧 Facilities and Events & Forethought: Update for the 2026–2027 School Year 🚧
We want to let you know that on June 1st, Forethought and Facilities & Events will be decommissioned, and you will no longer have access after that date.
As a district, we will not be implementing a replacement for these modules. If your campus would like to explore alternatives, please coordinate next steps with your campus administration.
- 📌 Important – Save Your Materials: If you have any lesson plans or items in Forethought, please download or print them now. To do this: open your Planner (or Shared/Team Planner), select a day, click Print, and choose to save/export your plans as Word, Excel, or PDF. Exporting to Word is easiest if you want an editable version.
📊 Eduphoria: Summer Housekeeping
Before you head out for a well-deserved break, take a few minutes to tidy up your digital workspace. This ensures a clean slate and a fast start when we return! Click here for our Eduphoria Housekeeping Tips.
Aware & Forethought Prep: Keep your data organized by Archiving your Teacher or Team tests in Aware (remember to follow naming guidelines with your Campus Name first!). Also, take a moment to Unshare your planners in Forethought with anyone who no longer needs access.
Strive Goals & Summer PD: Finalize your Goal reflections and copy them to the new school year before they are archived. While you’re there, check out the Summer PD schedule to register for upcoming learning opportunities and print any certificates you need for your records.
Eduphoria Strive: Trouble Signing Your Evaluation?
If you are attempting to sign a document and are seeing a blank "white box," or if you have forgotten the answer to your security question, you can resolve this quickly by following the two linked documents below.
Security Question Answer: You will need to update your Eduphoria profile by following these instructions: Updating your Eduphoria Profile
'White Box' Error: You must select the 'sign' option with your mouse on your computer and not use the "Enter" option. Here are the instructions on how to do so: Electronically Sign your Evaluation

YouTube Videos in Canvas
If you are seeing a “This video is unavailable (Error Code: 152-15)” message in your Canvas course, this is due to recent Google security updates.
When a YouTube video is added using an embed code (iFrame), it pulls directly from YouTube. Because student access to YouTube is blocked, the video cannot load.
To fix this, please add videos using Studio instead:
Apps (plug icon) → Studio → Select your video
Videos added through Studio will play correctly for students.
🎨 Canvas LMS: Securing Your Course Content
Your Canvas classroom is full of great work from this year. Let’s make sure your best "instructional plays" are tucked away safely for next year.
Sandbox Storage: Don't lose your hard work! Export your favorite modules or save your entire course to your Personal Sandbox which you can review for next year to keep the content up to date. This keeps your best resources ready to go the moment you start planning for August.
You can find the instructions here on how to export and import course content in Canvas: https://kb.conroeisd.net/kb/exporting-and-importing-course-content
New Canvas Portfolio Experience Announced!
Canvas has already introduced the upcoming Canvas Portfolio experience, released in November 2025. This new tool will make it easier for students to showcase their growth and will eventually replace both Canvas ePortfolio and Portfolium (Folio) by June 30, 2026. As you plan for Semester 2, be mindful of these future changes and consider reviewing any content in existing legacy portfolio tools. Users of the legacy tools will receive in-app reminders starting January 2026 and should export any existing content before the retirement date. Latest Canvas LMS Updates

❗Campus Audits are Underway
Please know that audits for campuses are underway to ensure all classroom devices are accurately accounted for. During these audits, staff should confirm the devices in each room by scanning to verify what is present and identify any missing items.
For more details on how to perform an audit you can view the resources here in our CISD Knowledge Base: https://kb.conroeisd.net/kb/audits-asset-management-campus-techs. If you have additional questions or need further guidance, please reach out to your campus technology contact or your campus principal.
Submit Tickets on the Correct Device
To help us provide the most accurate support, it’s important to submit tickets on the specific device you’re having an issue with whenever possible.
Before selecting a general device category, try searching for the device by its asset tag. You can also go to “My Assets” to see all the devices in your room and submit a ticket directly on the correct one. For devices you use frequently, consider favoriting them so they’re easier to find next time.
- How to know a ticket is tied correctly: When a ticket is submitted on the correct device, you’ll see the asset tag number listed on the right-hand side of the ticket under “Asset”. This ensures the ticket is linked to the device’s history, giving everyone the right context to troubleshoot quickly.
