The Howler Newsletter

Howler for the week of 5/25/2026
Happy Memorial Day, weekend! We hope you have a great 3-day weekend with your family and friends. As we get ready for our last 2 ½ days of school, we have an important announcement about our parking lot for next week. Due to this summer’s construction, we will have some storage containers delivered soon (probably this weekend) to our large parking lot. This will cause some parking spaces to be blocked and it will reroute the traffic pattern a bit. Officer Rowe will be out during drop-off and pick-up times to help, but we wanted to also provide a visual, so you know what to expect. In the visual below, the orange indicates the predicted location of the storage containers. If the storage containers are placed here, please do not park in the red marked spaces. Traffic will flow in the direction of the black arrow.
Here are a couple reminders about the end of the school year:
Student laptops - If students are returning to a MPS school in August, they will keep their laptop over the summer. Eighth graders will bring their middle school laptop to their high school orientation and exchange it for their high school device. If students aren’t returning to an MPS school, please let the main office know and we’ll organize the return of their laptop.
Meds in the nurse’s office - If your student has prescription medications in the nurse’s office, they need to be picked up by a parent/guardian or designated adult by the end of the school day on Thursday, May 28. Because the building is closed starting May 29, any prescription meds that aren’t picked up won’t be accessible in the summer, so they will be properly disposed of.
Last Day of School - Students should not bring bags on the last day of school. They may bring their yearbook and a pen for yearbook signing. Any bags that are brought to school will be kept in the main office until dismissal. Students are dismissed at 11:15 (I apologize that last week’s Howler said 11:30!)
