Principal's Note
Hello SGCS families,
🫶 We DESPERATELY Need Your Help!
Our school needs more substitutes! If you’ve ever considered helping out, now is a great time to join our substitute team. Even picking up a day here and there makes a BIG difference for our students and staff. You don’t have to be a teacher to make a positive impact—just a willingness to help! Interested? Sign up here: Apply to Be a Substitute
Thank you, families! - Thank you to all the families who joined us for Parent/Teacher Conferences last week! We enjoyed connecting with you and talking about your child’s learning and growth.
Halloween Costumes at School — Friday 🎃
We’re looking forward to celebrating Halloween with our students on Friday!
Please help us keep the day fun and safe for everyone by choosing school-appropriate costumes.
A few reminders:
No weapons or weapon-like props, including toy weapons.
No scary masks or masks that hide the face.
Costumes should be appropriate for an elementary school setting and allow students to participate comfortably in their regular school activities.
Thank you for helping us create a fun, welcoming Halloween celebration for all our students. We appreciate your partnership!
In partnership,
Stacy Diouf
SGCS Principal
Reminder: Health Forms Needed
Have you turned in your child’s JSD Health History and JSD OTC Medication Authorization forms this year?
If not, please complete and return them to the school as soon as possible.
Need the forms?
Contact Paige to have the fillable PDFs emailed to you again.
Find all fillable forms on the JSD Health Services webpage.
If you’re unsure whether you’ve already submitted your forms, please check with Paige. Thank you for helping us keep your child’s health information up to date!
Stay Connected with ClassDojo!
We’re excited to introduce ClassDojo, a free tool to help strengthen communication between school and home! We are doing a soft rollout between now and Winter Break. Starting in January, it will be our primary mode of communication.
Your child’s teacher will send you an invitation to join their ClassDojo class. Please look for the invitation and follow the steps to connect.
ClassDojo is free! There is no need to purchase anything or pay for a subscription to participate.
We value our partnership with families and look forward to using ClassDojo to keep you connected to your child’s classroom. Thank you for being part of our school community!
