Early Childhood Update! Early Childhood Update!

A Message from Ms. Suzette, Director of Early Childhood

Hello Families,

I hope you are enjoying the start of summer! Although St. Maryโ€™s of the Assumption is officially on break, the Early Education Department has been bursting with energy, laughter, and joy we truly havenโ€™t slowed down one bit!

Today we had an absolutely delightful day filled with sunshine, smiles, and sweet treats. The children splashed, giggled, and played during our water play session, which brought so much happiness and excitement to all. Thereโ€™s nothing quite like the sound of little feet in puddles and the joy of shared laughter on a warm day.

To top it all off, we treated our students to some delicious ice cream, the perfect way to cool off and celebrate a day well spent. Their smiles (and a few sticky fingers!) were a wonderful reminder of the simple joys that make childhood so magical.

Thank you for your continued support and trust in us. We are so grateful to share these special moments with your children and look forward to many more fun-filled days ahead.

Wishing you a beautiful, safe, and joy-filled summer!

Best,

Suzette Torres-Perrier

Fun Friday Celebration!

We closed out our first week of summer with an exciting Fun Friday celebration! Students in the Infant & Toddler Classrooms, as well as the PreK summer camp had a blast playing in the outdoor water play set up by our staff!

The students had a blast playing with all the fun water toys! They splashed around in the kiddie pool, danced through the sprinklers, tossed the beach ball back and forth, tried their luck with the toy fishing pole, and giggled as they chased and popped bubbles. It was the perfect way to enjoy a sunny day!

Once water play was all wrapped up, our Toddler and PreK students enjoyed a delicious Ice Cream treat! What a great way to kick off summer!

Growing Kindness in PreK Summer Camp!

In PreK Summer Camp students worked on a variety of fun and engaging activities! They focused around the central theme of nature and plants. Students created flower thermometers by carefully following the teacherโ€™s instructions. They learned about temperature and how the sun helps plants to grow. They also worked on their fine motor skills creating beautiful hand print cacti! The students worked together as a team to create a beautiful flower of kindness, teaching students about the importance of teamwork and being kind to one another.

Spots Available!

Looking for your child to experience the fun of PreK summer camp at St. Mary's? We still have spots available throughout the summer. If you child is age 3 or 4 and you would like to sign them up for summer camp please contact: storresperrier@stmarys-brookline.org

Growing Together in the Toddler Room!

Students in the toddler room kicked off their summer learning about plants and how they grow! Ms. Tiffany and Ms. Liz taught the students about how plants and flowers grow, starting from small seeds and blooming into the beautiful plants we see all around us! Each toddler student planted their very own seed and learned about how they can watch their seed grow and change overtime! Students also created foam flowers to let their creativity shine as they continue to think about all they have learned.

Learning & Celebrating in the Infant Room!

Students in the infant room started off the summer with some great learning activities! They learned about farm animals and the different sounds made by each animal. They practiced their listening skills by carefully listening to Ms. Rachelle talks about each animal. The students especially enjoyed playing with the farm animals afterwards! The Infant Room also began some Fourth of July festivities with a Red, White, and Blue themed water table. Students loved all of the different Red, White, and Blue toys, and had a great time playing with the water.
