- Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.
Good Afternoon, CUSD,
We are sending our newsletter out on Thursday since there is no school for students tomorrow. While our teachers will be working, please note that school offices will be closed.
This year, CoSA is celebrating “30 Years of Creativity” with an anniversary gala! You can support our talented student artists by attending the March 14th gala at the beautiful Venue 808 in downtown San Diego. It’s a fun night out for a wonderful cause! Check out the flyer and QR code below for more details.
Fun Fact: today marks the 90th day of instruction for the 2025-26 school year - exactly at the halfway mark! Bravo to all students and teachers for reaching this milestone - and congratulations to CHS students who just finished their term 1 final exams! Remember that with our revised calendar, next year's high school finals will be the week before winter break (for those planning their holiday travel in advance!)
Enjoy the long weekend!
Respectfully,
Karl J. Mueller

Ed Tech Parent Series
SDCOE is excited to announce the upcoming Educational Technology Parent Series, a free virtual learning opportunity open to all parents and educators across our region. This series is designed to support families and school communities in navigating educational technology and resources that empower student success.
As our educators, parents, and community come together to connect, challenge, and champion our students, we are humbled by the outpouring of compliments. What a positive testament to our CUSD family!
- Lisa and Joseph are Silver Strand parents and also foster parents. Over the past few years, we have observed the Smith family welcome and embrace a number of children in need of a safe and loving home. We so admire the Smiths and their generosity of spirit, time, love, and resources. They are community heroes!
- Naqita is an SSES mom and community member who is a helper. She has been identified as someone who steps up for neighbors, reaches out, welcomes, and supports when she sees a need. Naqita and her daughter are PCSing soon, and they will be missed so much by their Voyager family. Thank you, Naqita, for being a community hero!
- Students, Carsen and Stella, found a roll of cash (almost $100!) and did not open it, but immediately turned it in to the office. We were able to identify the owner of the money, who was very relieved. We are super proud of the responsible and honest choice these 5th graders demonstrated! Way to go, Stella and Carsen!
Click here to recognize an employee or volunteer who goes above and beyond to make a difference. Those who are "caught" will receive a copy of the positive words that were shared about them and a "Caught Being Awesome" decal. Please take a minute or two to brighten someone else's day!
