This week...
The highlight of my week was most definitely my trip with the Mini Vinnies to deliver their Harvest donations to the Wetherby Foodbank. I was so proud of them - they're making our world a better place!
Thank you, as always, for supporting us to
Live, love and learn with the Lord.
Mrs Ronicle
Virtue
Our current virtue is: Citizenship
If your child shows our virtues at home, please do let us know so we can celebrate that in school/nursery too!
Harvest Foodbank Collection
This week, our Mini Vinnies carried their harvest collection to The Barn! We were met by the Wetherby and District Foodbank, who gratefully accepted our donations.
Well done to our amazing Mini Vinnies!
Thank you so much for your donations to support our local community, and show our virtues of love, kindness, charity and service.
St Francis Feast Day
On Monday, it was the feast day for St Francis. Our Nursery loved learning more about their named saint and celebrating the life and good deeds of St Francis!
After School Clubs
Please see details of our new after school clubs, running from after half term. Bookings are open now on Parentpay!
Christmas Fayre
Our Christmas Fayre is returning to its usual slot on Sunday 29th November.
The Christmas Fayre is always lots of fun for the children, but is also our biggest fundraising event of the year. It's our chance to raise as much as possible to support the school and all our other events.
We are in desperate need of volunteers to help us plan and run the event. Please let us know if you are able to help, even just an hour or two on the day would be fantastic.
Email us at friendsofstjotad@gmail.com or join our WhatsApp group via the link or QR code below.

TT Rock Stars battle!
CONGRATULATIONS to our Year 3s, who won our TT Rock Stars battle!
Miss Pitchers has organised a new battle... let's see if Year 3 can be beaten!
This week, we have been learning...
St Francis Class (Nursery / Preschool)
This week in St Francis Nursery, we have continued our book focus 'Room on the Broom'. Our favourite activity has been decorating the witch’s hat using a variety of loose parts. We loved using our imaginations to create magical designs! We even decided to ‘sweep’ the hat using tiny witches’ brooms! It's been so much fun exploring, creating and bringing the story to life through our play!
St Bernadette Class (Reception / Y1)
This week, St Bernadette's worked very hard while exploring numbers in maths. Reception children completed a special challenge, ordering numbers 1 to 10 on number stamps. Year 1 children learnt how to write addition number sentences and investigated different ways of making numbers. Our challenge now is to quickly recall number bonds to 10!
St Patrick Class (Year 2/3/4)
St. Patrick's Class has been busy creating their shell structures for their chosen animals. This week we have started the process of building our structures based on our plans, chosen materials and thought deeply about strengthening our materials. We worked hard and focused on practising our cutting skills and following our design briefs!
St Therese Class (Year 5/6)
In Science, we looked at the life cycle of birds and reptiles. We dissected an egg and considered what the different parts meant.
