Week 6 Family Newsletter 26-27

Dear Mustang Families,

We have officially wrapped up our first round of interim assessments! Our students put in fantastic effort, and we are so proud of their hard work and focus throughout testing.

To celebrate and bring our school community together, we hope you’ll join us for Stampede this Thursday, September 17, from 5:30 PM to 7:30 PM!

Here are a few quick details to keep in mind:

• Family Event: Stampede is not a drop-off event. Please come together with your family to enjoy the evening as a community.

• Cost: Admission is completely free for all McNair students and their immediate family members.

• What to Expect: A fantastic evening filled with fun, connection, and time to enjoy together.

On Wednesday of this week, emails will be sent to families who reside in attendance zones for the future Thompson Middle School and John L Colbert Junior High School who have students who will be zoned to these schools in future years. The purpose of the email will be to solicit feedback for the mascots of each of these schools. Emails will only be sent to families who currently have a student enrolled in Fayetteville Public Schools that have a student who is zoned to attend one of these schools in the future.

Thomason Middle School will serve 5th & 6th grade students who reside in the Happy Hollow, Leverett, Root, and Washington elementary zones. Families who reside in these four elementary zones who have a current student in 5th grade or younger will receive an email inviting them to provide feedback on the Thomason mascot.

John L Colbert Junior High School will serve 7th & 8th grade students who reside in the Holcomb and Owl Creek elementary zones. Families who reside in these two elementary zones who have a current student in 7th grade or younger will receive an email inviting them to provide feedback on the Colbert mascot.

These surveys will only be open for one week, so be on the lookout this Wednesday!

Carline information can be found here. AM carline starts at 7:10 in the front and approximately 7:20 in the back (after buses have cleared). PM carline is front only. At 2:30, we will go to a double line to be able to load more cars at a time (Students will be dismissed at 3:00, but we have to scan ID barcodes prior to dismissal). This means that it is almost impossible to get into the parking lot to check out after 2:30, so please complete all check outs before 2:30. This will make your life a lot easier!!!

This year, EVERY student will again receive one FREE breakfast everyday! All they have to do is go through the cafe line and enter their lunch code and it is free!

For lunch to be free or reduced, each family MUST fill out the meal form. This is the link to apply for free/reduced meals: https://www.myschoolapps.com/

And lastly, to add money to your student's meals account: www.MySchoolBucks.com

Reminder - if you bring your child lunch, you can only bring it for your child. Due to allergies and other concerns, we do not allow drop off meals for children from other families.
