Each session will begin with important information about our Title I program, followed by a message from our PTO.

Dress as your favorite storybook character (no scary costumes please).

Families are invited to watch the parade along our back bus circle drive.

Our Early Childhood Department has created a Prekindergarten Family Newsletter and a Parent Survey for September.

The newsletter will be shared three times a year as part of our family engagement goals, and the survey helps us gather important feedback to continue improving our Pre-K program.

We would love for you to take a few minutes to read the newsletter and complete the survey. Your input is valuable and helps us support our students and families.

We’re excited to introduce the Conroe ISD Special Education Parent Advisory Committee (SEPAC), a new parent-led group created in collaboration with the CISD Special Education Department. SEPAC is here to connect, support, and empower families of students with IEPs or 504s. SEPAC is focused on building stronger partnerships between families and our district's special education services.

Personal Items and Electronic Devices

Items forgotten by your child should be delivered to the front office, labeled with your child’s name and teacher’s name. We will deliver articles to the classroom.

Items without a name will be placed in the lost and found for a short time before being donated to local charities. Please write your child’s name on all sweaters, coats, backpacks, water bottles, lunch kits, etc.

Students should keep personal devices like cell phones and smartwatches turned off or on silent and put away during the school day. If a device is used during class time without permission, it may be held in the front office until the end of the day.

Attendance

When your child is absent, call/email their homeroom teacher and the school registrar, Robin Rickwalt at rrickwalt@conroeisd.net. 936- 709-2610.

Following a school absence, a note/email and a doctor's note (when appropriate) should be sent by the parent/guardian explaining the absence in order to be documented on the students attendance record.

Attendance is officially recorded at 8:55 am each day. Routine medical appointments should be scheduled before or after this time period. A child enrolled in pre-kindergarten or kindergarten is subject to compulsory attendance laws and policies. Please plan to take family vacations during school holidays or long weekends. It is important that children remain in school until the close of each school day at 3:10 p.m. unless illness has caused a child to leave earlier.

2025-2026 Giesinger Student Handbook

Students take the NWEA MAP Growth assessment three times a year (fall, winter, and spring) to measure academic progress and growth over time. Within two weeks of the testing window closing, families can access their child’s MAP Family Report in the CISD Parent Portal. This report provides valuable insight into your child’s learning progress and areas for growth.

A new Texas law, House Bill 6, was recently passed to help schools better manage student behavior and keep classrooms focused on learning. This law gives schools more options when handling discipline, such as suspensions, removals, and alternatives to hearings.

The State of Texas passed Senate Bill 10 that requires the posting of the 10 Commandments in all classrooms.

Even though lawsuits have been filed regarding the posting and an injunction has been issued for specific school districts we are required by law to post them.

As of September 2nd, our classrooms will comply with law and have the 10 Commandments posted in all classrooms.

We understand that this is a controversial topic for many.

Please know that the teacher, school and district have no opinion on this topic. It is a law passed by the Texas 89th Legislature and signed by the Governor and we are required to comply.
