Fernbrook Elementary School students move full steam ahead with reading
Students at Fernbrook Elementary School stayed “on track” during the end of “I Love to Read Month.” The dedicated library media specialist team transformed the space into a train station, full of locomotives, train tracks and puffs of steam! Students read the book “All Aboard the Alaska Train” by Brooke Hartman, and then had their chance to pick out train and adventure themed books and read on the train tracks. Students also participated in other activities such as completing a classroom book bingo. The library media specialist team also picked out select books, where students could win an entry to a drawing when they check out those books, with the chance to win a free book!
March 2 was Read Across America Day. Students show their passion for reading every day in libraries across the district!
Author visits take place in district elementary schools
