Class of 2027 Assembly Update
Thursday, August 28, 2025
Class of 2027 Parents/Guardians,
I'm writing to you today to share some of the information we covered with our Junior class at an assembly this past Tuesday. We're committed to ensuring every student has a successful and safe school year, and your partnership is vital to that success.
Getting to Know Boerne High School
During the meeting, we introduced the students to key staff members who are here to support them, including administrators, counselors, secretaries, and our School Resource Officer. We believe it's important for students to know who they can turn to for help and guidance.
We also took some time to review important academic information, laying the groundwork for a successful high school career. We discussed key topics such as:
Boerne HS Student Expectations
CCMR - what is it and how can it affect your Senior Year?
Important Dates - College Fair, SAT, ACT, & TSIA
We also held a serious and important conversation about our expectations for student conduct. While the vast majority of our students are making great choices, we felt it was important to review our standards. Our number one priority is the safety of every student, and we take our commitment to upholding that seriously.
Reinforcing Our Expectations
This assembly was one of several times we've reviewed our expectations with students. Boerne High School has a strong reputation for excellence because we hold our students to high standards. These expectations have created a tradition of success that we are proud of and want to continue. We believe that with your support, we can maintain the positive culture and legacy that makes our school so special.
Please take a moment to review the attached slides (below) and the information we shared with the Juniors. Your involvement in reinforcing these expectations at home will be critical to a safe and healthy school year for everyone.
If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to contact a counselor or administrator.
Go Greyhounds!

More about CCMR...
Also, on Tuesday, during the Advisory Period, the counselors and administrators met with the Juniors in the Auditorium to share with them the Texas Education Agency (TEA) required College, Career, and Military Readiness (CCMR) standard and how it could affect their Senior schedule if it is not taken care of. Our Counselors had a presentation they reviewed with them. We have also provided the same presentation we went over with them to you and the students in this email (below). Please review this important information.
CCMR and Your Senior Year:
A student’s senior year is important as they plan for life after high school. To prepare for the future, students should achieve college, career, or military readiness (CCMR) as defined by the Texas Education Agency (TEA). Students can demonstrate CCMR through test scores, coursework, industry-based certifications, and military enlistment. To be CCMR certified, they only need to meet one of the criteria. It is possible to meet multiple criteria, but the TEA requirement is that each graduating Senior must at least achieve one of them sometime during their high school career. Boerne ISD is excited to continue offering our seniors who achieve CCMR the opportunity for senior release during 4th and/or 8th periods of their senior year, along with senior release lunch.
Seniors who have not achieved CCMR will be required to take English and/or Math College Prep courses to help them achieve this state standard. Some of the upcoming opportunities for students to achieve a CCMR indicator are listed in the presentation (below).
Please contact your school counselor or academic dean for additional details or questions.
Sincerely,
BHS Admin & Counseling Team
