The STAGS Weekly Scoop from Co-Principals, Mrs. Manfred & Mrs. Krauss!

Dear Parents and Guardians,

What a great start to the school year we have already had! Each Monday, we will share important information through our Monday News. This is the best way to stay informed about upcoming events, important dates, and other information throughout the school year. Below you will find many start-of-the-school-year reminders and important information.

Through our classrooms, friendships, prayer, service, and daily experiences, we hope our students grow not only as learners, but also as compassionate and courageous young people who seek to make a difference in the world.

Our school theme this year is “Finding God in All Things.” Each new day brings opportunities to learn, grow, serve others, and discover the many gifts God has given each of us.

Thank you for entrusting your children to us and for being such important partners in their education and formation. We are grateful for the opportunity to walk alongside your family this year.

May this school year be filled with joyful learning, meaningful relationships, new discoveries, and countless opportunities to grow closer to God and to one another.

We are excited for a wonderful year ahead!

With gratitude and prayers,

Dawn Manfred & Angie Krauss

Co-Principals

Important Reminders from the Co-Principals

  • FACTS information: If you have questions regarding your FACTS account please email jasion@stalsschool.org

  • To report a student absence, tardy, or early dismissal please email attendance@stalsschool.org

  • If your child takes medication during the school day, it must be brought to the front office. If your child needs an EPI pen in case of an emergency, please make sure it is updated.

  • For security reasons, we are not accepting any food delivery services for staff or students. For example: Door Dash, Uber Eats, Pizza, Jimmy John's, etc. Thank you for your understanding and putting the safety of our school community first.

  • Snacks: Parents please encourage nutritious snacks and limit sugary drinks and highly processed foods. Energy drinks are not appropriate for students in a school setting.

  • Miss Maggie, our school counselor, has provided several resources for your reference as we continue to navigate this difficult time in our Spokane community in relation to the Spokane Complex Fires. The attached resources are a starting point to help recognize possible reactions, support children, and connect families with additional resources if/when needed.

  • St. Al's Online Store will be opening in the next day or two for all your uniform sweatshirt and STAGS swag needs. Watch for the email to land in your inbox soon!

Important ELC Reminders from the ELC Administration

  • While we enjoy the slower pace and quieter halls of summer, it is very nice to have our K-8 students back!

  • We are looking forward to a great year in our ELC as we learn about how to find God in all things, expand our social emotional support of students with the Conscious Discipline program, and implement a new approach to teaching early literacy skills with Learning Without Tears in our pre-k classrooms.

  • If you have any questions or concerns, please contact Nicole at nshaw@stalsschool.org.

STAGS Prayers/Reflection

In the end, it is not our task to end the sin and suffering of the world or to stop the mindless march of violence. It is rather, to follow a different way: to take opportunities, small as they may be, to reduce hatred and carnage, to let go of fears, and to entrust even our poor inadequacy to the hands of God. This is taking up our daily cross. This is Finding God in all things. ~ John Kavanaugh, SJ
