Lincoln Leaders Newsletter Lincoln Leaders Newsletter

Greetings

Welcome to November, Lincoln Leader Families!

November is a natural time for reflection and gratitude. I find myself especially grateful for this school community. I continue to be thankful for our dedicated families, hardworking students, and caring staff who make Lincoln Elementary such a special place to be.

By this point in the school year, routines are well established, relationships are growing, and we are beginning to see the progress that comes from consistency, effort, and strong partnerships between home and school. Thank you to everyone who has already taken the time to attend conferences. Your involvement and collaboration make a meaningful difference in your child’s success.

As we move into November and closer to the holiday season, I encourage you to continue talking with your child about what they are learning, the goals they are working toward, and the ways they can show kindness, responsibility, and perseverance each day.

Please mark your calendars for the second half of parent teacher conferences on November 5th from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM.

If you have questions about your scheduled time, please reach out to your child’s teacher or the office. If you need to reschedule after missing our first conference night, please connect with your child’s teacher. If you were not able to meet with you teacher on the first night please make an effort to connect with your child's teacher if you have not already heard from them.

Conferences are a wonderful opportunity to celebrate growth, ask questions, and work together to set goals for the months ahead. As you prepare, you might consider:

  • How is your child adjusting to routines and expectations?

  • What strengths do you see at home that we can continue to encourage at school?

  • What questions or hopes do you have about your child’s growth in reading, math, or social skills?

Thank you for continuing to partner with us. When school and home work together, our students are the ones who benefit most.

Thank you for being an important part of our Lincoln Leader family!

Lincoln PALS Lincoln PALS

What is PALS?

At Lincoln Elementary, our Parent Teacher Organization is called Lincoln PALS (Parents Active with Lincoln School). This group brings together parents, guardians, and staff members to work as partners in supporting our students and school community.

Being part of PALS has many benefits:

  • Stay Connected – Learn more about what’s happening at school and build strong communication between home and school.

  • Have a Voice – Share your ideas and help make decisions that positively impact students.

  • Support Students & Staff – PALS organizes events, fundraisers, and special projects that directly benefit classrooms and enhance learning.

  • Build Community – Meet other families and develop meaningful connections while working together toward a common goal: helping our students thrive.

We encourage all families to get involved in Lincoln PALS. Whether you can volunteer a little time or a lot, your participation makes a big difference for our school!

Bullying

What is Bullying?

Bullying is more than kids not getting along or having an argument. It happens when one child repeatedly and on purpose uses their words, actions, or influences to hurt, scare, or control another child.

Key signs that bullying is occurring:

it's repeated- happens more than once or becomes a pattern

It's one-sided- one child has more power (size, popularity, age, or confidence)

It causes harm - the other child's feels hurt, afraid or left out on purpose.

Types of Bullying:

  • Physical- hitting, kicking, tripping, taking or damaging belongings
  • Verbal- name- calling, teasing, threats, mean jokes
  • Social Relational- leaving someone out on purpose, spreading rumors, turning friends against them
  • Cyberbullying- mean or hurtful messages, post, or pictures on line

Bullying can cause kids to feel scared, sad, or alone. It can also affect learning, friendships, and self-esteem. If you child brings up a situation that meets these guidelines, please reach out right away.

Ways to Reach Out

Contact your child's teacher via email, phone call, or set up a meeting
