Hello Little Viking Families,
Welcome back! We have had an exciting 2 weeks jumping back into our learning at Salt Creek School. Just a few reminders:
1) Snack - please send you student with a healthy snack each day, we do not have any extras in the office. We've gotten a lot of requests these first weeks back.
2) Winter Weather - it's cold out there! Please remember to send your students to school with hats and gloves. Our weather watch chart is listed below- WE DO GO OUTSIDE when the weather watch chart is in the green and yellow. If there is snow on the ground, students must have snow pants and boot in addition their jacket to play in the snow. Thank you!
3) Lost and Found - please check out the pictures below of our lost and found. If your child is missing something, we might have it!
4) Drop off and pick up - please remember the lane in front of the school is a drop -off lane, if you plan to get our of the car to assist your child, please park and walk them to the school. During pick up please park in the parking lot. There is no parking in or behind the coned off area to keep the entrance open and a safe zone for parents and students during pick up.
Thank you!
Have a great 3 day weekend and GO BEARS!

Weather Chart
Please remember to dress your students for the weather! We go outside whenever possible even in the cold and snow! The district uses the child care weather watch chart below when determining if the weather is too severe for outdoor play. Any time the temperature and wind falls into the red, students will have indoor recess. Yellow we still go outside but the duration of the time spent outside is monitored. And we always go out when in the green zone!
Whenever it is actively raining, students will stay inside for recess and play.

Lunch Balances
Overdue Breakfast/ Lunch Balances
Don't forget to check and pay any overdue lunch balances. You can check balances and pay on your parent Skyward account. You can also send cash or check payment to school with your child in a marked envelope with name and what payment is for. The office will then account for the cash or check payment on your student's Skyward.

I Love U Guys ❤️
Standard Response Protocol
Salt Creek District 48 has adopted an emergency protocol response from the I Love U Guys Foundation. This is a program that has been adopted by many of the schools within DuPage County. Over the summer, the administrative team attended training on the protocol and is passing along the training to all staff. We also want to make families aware of the five different protocols so you can be familiar with the language you may hear your child or the school use.
Payments & Fees
In your parent portal in skyward, click on the fee payment tile, then in the far right hand top corner click on the "make online payments" button. This will take you to Revtrak. Make sure to sign up before you try to make payment. Once you can sign in, click the Make a Payment button in the middle of the page. This new service will streamline the payments so you can make a payment or set up recurring payments. This is directly connected to Skyward so you see the money immediately go to your child's account. If you have any questions please email or call your school office.
Preschool Payments: Once in Revtrak you will see in the upper right area an arrow next to SHOP. Click the arrow and pick Preschool in order for you to complete your payment. If you have any questions please email or call the Salt Creek school office.
