Weekly Memo
Some thoughts for the starting school year

Hi Everyone,
I hope you all have have had a nice week. Crazy that it feels more like January out there than we are used to at this point of the school year. I am hoping for sunny and warm next week. We had a wonderful time at last weekend's prom. Thank you to YORKWISE for sponsoring a self, healthy, and sober event.
This week we recognized our student athletes who are planning to play a sport at the collegiate level at our annual College Commitment Ceremony. It was a great way to celebrate our Wildcats before they move on in their athletic careers. We also had our annual ELO Symposium this morning, which was a great success. Students were able to share their essential questions, what they learned, and how this experience shaped their future plans. Thank you, Mrs. Pinette, for helping these students navigate their ELOs and for organizing the event.
We are officially kicking off our end-of-year celebrations tonight with our Underclass Awards Night. This is a great event to recognize our students in grades 9-11. Our seniors picked up their caps & gowns on Tuesday and started their final exams yesterday. The end is in sight for the Class of 2025 with graduation only 15 days away. I will share a "cheat sheet" next week for all seniors and their families to keep track of the senior week activities (and when to wear caps/gowns/stoles).
If you haven't already done so, please take a few minutes to fill out this SURVEY regarding York School Department's Title Grant Funding. Your opinion matters!!
Just a reminder that tomorrow (Friday, May 23) is an Early Release Day (YHS dismissal at 11:00). We also do not have school on Monday as we recognize Memorial Day and remember those brave individuals who gave the ultimate sacrifice for our country. Thank you for your continued support and if you have any questions please don't hesitate to reach out to Liza or me.
Thanks,
Amanda
Road Closure
We are getting one step closer to our new stadium field, but we will need to close down a road in order to get the plumbing figured out (yay for real bathrooms!). Please take note of the message below and plan accordingly.

Spring Testing Information
Next week we begin our spring testing season. Please review the following information to see when your student will be assessing:
April 14 - May 30:
- All sophomores (grade 10) will be taking the Maine Through Year Assessment (MTYA).
- This is the state assessment that they took in the fall.
- This is a computer-based test, and all students will be provided a district device.
- Students will be taking the assessment in their math and English classes. Teachers will share with the students when they will be assessing.
April 29 - June 6:
- All students in grades 9-11 will be taking the Spring i-Ready Diagnostic in their Prides.
- We will have an extended Pride during all four days so that students have the opportunity to complete their assessment, without disruption. This schedule will be shared before vacation.
- Students will not be provided district issued devices, so they will need to bring their own laptop charged and ready to go during all four days.
- SRTC students will not be taking the diagnostic.
