Purple House 5 2023-2024

November 14, 2025
Dear Purple Families,
Sky Ranch was absolutely incredible! The autumn weather was perfect, and our days were filled with friends, fun, laughter, and nonstop activities from sunrise to sunset. From team challenges to outdoor adventures, our fifth graders made memories they’ll never forget. And after all that excitement, we’re pretty sure everyone went straight to sleep on Wednesday night!
In this season of gratitude, I want you to know how incredibly thankful I am for your children. Watching them so joyful, engaged, and willing to participate in every activity was truly heartwarming. Their enthusiasm and kindness made our time together even more special, and I feel so lucky to spend my days learning and growing with them.
Wishing you all a wonderful weekend.
Warmly,
Ms. May Voltz

Sky Ranch Memories
We had a truly fabulous few days at Sky Ranch—memories to last a lifetime! From team-building challenges and horseback riding to canoeing, zip lining, and even riding a mechanical bull, our learners embraced every adventure with excitement and courage. Highlights also included chasing a calf (yes, really!) and designing, building, and launching rockets.
The Sky Ranch staff was absolutely incredible, and our chaperones were the best ever. We are so incredibly grateful for this unforgettable experience and for the adults who helped make it possible. What a special time of learning, laughter, and connection for our fifth graders!
Thank you Chaperones!

Learn at Home: Find Fractions Around You!
Fractions are everywhere. We just have to look! Take a walk around your home, kitchen, or neighborhood and spot examples of fractions in everyday life.
Ask yourself:
Where do I see things divided into equal parts?
When do I need to use or understand fractions to solve a problem?
You might notice fractions when:
Measuring ingredients for a recipe (½ cup, ¾ teaspoon)
Sharing snacks equally with friends
Reading a clock that says “half past”
Comparing how much of a task or project is finished
Building, cutting, or crafting when you need precise parts of a whole
Challenge:
Make a short list, drawing, or photo collage of “Fractions Around Me.”
Then reflect:
👉 Where do I see a need for knowing fractions in real life? How do fractions help people every day?
