To ensure that all students have the opportunity to perform their best on their exams, there will be no student check-outs allowed during the final exam window. We understand that unexpected circumstances can arise, but we kindly request that appointments and other obligations be scheduled outside of this critical period. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation in this matter.

Graduation Dress Code - Guidelines for Proper Attire
GOWN: Remove the graduation gown from its individual package as soon as possible to allow wrinkles to fall. Press the gown with a cool iron before wearing it. The gown should be about mid-calf length; this may vary by a few inches.
CAPS: Place the cap on the head so that the mortarboard is level. The front of the cap is indicated on the inside of the crown. Caps are never worn on the back of the head. For graduation, caps should be worn parallel to the ground with the point in the center of the forehead. Caps can be affixed with bobby pins. Tassels should be positioned on the right. Students should write their name on the inside of their cap.
- STUDENTS ARE NOT ALLOWED TO DECORATE THEIR CAPS
Any decorated caps will be confiscated, and students will need to pay $(TBD) for a replacement cap to walk at Graduation.
If a student loses their tassel, it costs $(TBD) (cash only) for a replacement. Replacement tassels are first come, first serve, and can be purchased from Mrs. Croy at Graduation Practice or while lining up for Graduation.
ATTIRE: All graduating students attending the graduation ceremony must dress in professional attire. Professional attire includes dresses, skirts, blouses, dress pants, and dress shirts. Clothing should coordinate with the graduation gown; dresses or slacks should be dark in color.
- Males: Shirts should be plain white or a subtle print or stripe. Shirts should be collared, no t-shirts. Students should wear dark dress slacks and NOT wear jeans, joggers, or pants with elastic at the bottom. If jewelry is worn, it should be minimal and may not show outside of the graduation gown.
- Females: A dress OR blouse and full-length dress slacks (no capris/crop length). Flats or low heels. No jeans, tennis shoes, or flip flops. If jewelry is worn, it should be minimal and may not show outside of the graduation gown.
SHOES: Shoes should coordinate with your graduation gown, which is black. No flip-flops or tennis shoes. Socks worn with shoes should also be dark in color. Students choosing to wear high heels should consider that you will be in the shoes for several hours and walking up and down ramps and stairs. Heels must have a strap around the back of the foot or around the ankle. Be sure to break your shoes in as there will be a lot of walking.
HONORS REGALIA: Only Seckinger approved and issued honors regalia (stoles and cords) may be worn at graduation. Any item not issued by Seckinger will be collected and may be picked up at the Seckinger Main Office on Thursday, May 23, 2024.
Graduation Guidelines
We want graduation to be a dignified and formal occasion for your senior and their family. Please treat this ceremony with dignity and respect. Loud yelling and other demonstrations are not appropriate. All seniors should be afforded the honor and prestige that receiving a diploma deserves. Graduation is a time for reflection and praise for successfully completing this important phase of life. Remember that the commencement exercise is the ceremony, not the celebration.
Students may NOT DECORATE their cap in any way. This includes cap toppers.
Graduation Practice
Graduation Practice will occur at Seckinger in the Commons on Tuesday, May 21st at 1:00 PM. Practice is mandatory for all those who plan to participate in the commencement program. Students must make arrangements to attend and be present for the entire practice.
Practice will take 2-3 hours. Again, students must make arrangements to attend and be present for the entire practice. If any emergency arises to prevent a student from attending practice, contact Mrs. Croy or Mrs. Kimmel immediately. Students who do not practice will not march.
Students do not have to dress up for practice. We recommend students wear comfortable but school appropriate attire.
Graduation Tickets
Graduation tickets will be distributed at the end of graduation practice.
Each graduating senior will be allotted fifteen (15) tickets for the ceremony. Children 2 years of age and under do not need a ticket to attend, but they are required to sit in a parent’s lap if they do not have a ticket.
Entrance to the Arena
The arena has a clear bag policy. You will not be allowed to bring in “non-clear” purses, bookbags, etc. Please be prepared.
Each graduate receives fifteen (15) tickets at graduation practice. Children under 2 being held do not need a ticket, but a baby in a carrier seat sitting in a chair will need a ticket. The graduate DOES NOT need a ticket.
Doors open at 7:00 PM. You will be seated as a group. Group members not present when you enter the arena, will be seated in a different section. In order to sit together, you will need to enter the arena together.
Please note that the arena DOES NOT permit helium balloons inside the venue.
Parents/guests are not permitted on the arena floor. Please remain in your seats.
Livestream of Graduation
Graduation will be live-streamed. Please share the following link with any family or friends who cannot attend the graduation. https://www.youtube.com/@gassouthdistrict
