A Message from Principal Meaux
Austin Families,
I hope you’ll join us this Thursday, October 22, from 5:00–7:00 p.m. for Nachos & Numbers, our Title I Family Math Night! We’ll have math games, nachos, face painting, and ideas you can use at home to support your child’s learning. It’s also a chance to spend some time together and let your child show you what they know!
This week also brings our Super Cubs Attendance Challenge! Classes will compete for a traveling trophy, and I’m looking forward to seeing who earns those first bragging rights. Thank you for helping your children arrive on time and ready to learn each day.
You’ll also find information below about our Book Fair and third grade’s community food drive. Whether you’re joining us for an event, donating a food item, or making time to read with your child, we appreciate the many ways you support our Cubs.
Have a wonderful week!
Katie Meaux

We hope to see you there!

Kona Ice will be at our Title I Night! Enjoy a delicious snow cone while supporting our school!
Calling All Austin Super Cubs!
Our Super Cubs Attendance Challenge is starting! Help your child's class become Attendance Champions by making sure they come to school every day and on time!
The winning class will receive a BIG Attendance Trophy to proudly show off to the entire school!
But here's the twist! Classes will compete every two weeks, which means another class could STEAL the trophy and become the new champions!
Don't let another class take your trophy! Let's work together, aim for 95% attendance, and show everyone which class has the best attendance at Austin Elementary!
Attention 4th Grade Families:
4th Grade Veterans Day Program request for pictures!
We invite our school community to help us honor the veterans and active-duty military members connected to our staff and families. We would love to include photos of family members, past or present, who have served or are currently serving in the United States Armed Forces of our fourth grade students. These photos will be featured in a special slideshow or display to help our fourth graders recognize and celebrate the personal connections we share with those who serve our country.
If you would like to participate, please submit a digital photo by email to Nyamada@conroeisd.net or Osaldierna@conroeisd.net . Or drop off a physical photo with your student before November 6. We will make a copy of any physical photos and send it back home with the student. If available, please include the individual’s name, their relationship to you, branch of service, rank, years and location of service, or any fun facts or special memories you’d like to share. Please label physical photos with your name so they can be safely returned. Thank you for helping us make this program meaningful for our students and school community!
Spring GT Testing Referral Window Opens October 1st
Parents, teachers, counselors, and administrators can refer any student for GT testing. Campus GT Facilitators are collecting referral forms from October 1–December 18, 2026. GT testing will occur on individual campuses between January 19–February 5, 2027, with testing results returned in spring 2027.
Scholastic Book Fair
The Scholastic Book Fair is coming to Austin Elementary October 14th–23rd! Please consider setting up an eWallet for your child.
What is an eWallet?
An eWallet is a convenient digital payment option that allows your child to shop at the Book Fair without needing to carry cash. It’s an easy, cash-free, worry-free way to shop!
The eWallet experience has been upgraded! Once you create an eWallet for your child, it will carry over from year to year and remain in their Scholastic account. This means they can use the same eWallet at future Book Fairs!
To set up an eWallet for your child, visit our school’s Book Fair homepage:
If your child already has an eWallet from a previous Book Fair, simply sign in to your Scholastic account to view the balance and manage the funds.
Funds are available immediately! From your account, you can add funds, create an eWallet for another child, invite friends and family to contribute, and more.
Open your child’s eWallet today and make Book Fair shopping easy and convenient
Lunch Visitors
We love welcoming parents to have lunch with their children! Because space is limited, please use the SignUpGenius link below to schedule your visit. Your child will join you at our family table, but other students may not join you. This helps us keep everyone safe while still making room for families to enjoy this special time together. We look forward to seeing you!
