Clinkscale's Commentary Clinkscale's Commentary

Dear Arnold Families,

As we close out another season of state testing, I want to thank everyone for a fabulous campus experience. We implemented new processes that made for very smooth and efficient testing days. Thank you for your support in helping prepare your students for these important milestones. I'm excited to see how well our students performed because I know how hard YOU worked to help prepare them for success!

Congratulations to our boys' and girls' track teams on an incredible season! Although the district meet was cut short due to bad weather, we still performed very well. Kudos to the coaching staff and all our athletes who qualified. Our non-varsity orchestra competed at UIL concert and sight-reading, earning "excellent" ratings. Our varsity band also competed at UIL concert and sight-reading, earning SWEEPSTAKES all superior ratings. Additionally, several of our art students had their artwork on display at the VPAC for the district's art show this month. Thank you to all of our fine arts directors and teachers for your tireless efforts and time commitment to allow these students to succeed! Baseball is wrapping up their season with their final games coming up later in May. Thank you to Coach Meyer and Coach Dixon for all of your hard work with our boys and girls who competed this season! We're so proud of all of these student groups and how you've showcased their talents! Finally, our incredible theater arts students AND choir students performed “High School Musical, Jr.” at Stage Works Theater this month. What an incredible showcase of talented students and directors! Kudos to Ms. Mallard, Ms. Cooper, and Ms. Boyland on a job well done with this production!

We only have 13 school days left with our Buccaneers before summer break begins. Although staff will be preparing for renovations to begin this summer, I know we will still make every minute count! I continue to count my blessings for being a part of THE BEST campus and community in CFISD! Let's finish strong and remember: BELIEVE IN THE POWER OF GOOD!

End of Grading Period Test or Projects End of Grading Period Test or Projects

Arnold Families,

It is hard to believe that we are close to the end of the semester and 24-25 school year! Please read the information below regarding end of grading period tests and high school credit course final exams.

End of Grading Period Tests or Projects

Arnold students will be taking tests and/or DPMs in all of their classes during the last weeks of school. Daily school attendance is crucial for the academic success of students. Students may not take tests early.

Students who miss test or project grades due to an absence can make them up after they return to school if it is before May 29, 2025. If a student doesn’t return before the end of the school year, missing test and project grades can be made up on the make-up day in June. This date will be communicated at a later date as our campus will be closed for renovations.

Please contact your child’s grade level counselor for more information or to schedule a time for your child to make up work.

If a student is not able to make-up an activity prior to the end of the school year, his/her teacher will submit a grade in progress, which will become the student’s final grade if the missing work is not completed. If your child completes the work on the scheduled day (May 29th), a grade change will be submitted to reflect the completed work.

High School Credit Courses

Some of our 7th and 8th graders take high school credit courses. If your child is enrolled in a high school credit course, please continue reading this section. All students enrolled in high school credit courses will take a final exam that is worth 1/7 of their semester grade. Final exams may not be taken early. Teachers will communicate their final exam days with students and parents.

If you have any questions about the tests or assessments in specific courses, please contact your child’s teacher, Grade-level Counselor or the Director of Instruction.

· 6th Grade Counselor: Sarah Gaona

· 7th Grade Counselor: Beth Brown

· 8th Grade Counselor: Lisa Gray

· Director of Instruction: Sara DiCaro

Chromebook Misuse (Concerning Trend) Chromebook Misuse (Concerning Trend)

As we approach the final days of the school year, we’re continuing to enjoy time with our students and celebrate their accomplishments. However, we also want to make you aware of a concerning trend that has recently surfaced on social media, particularly on TikTok.

Students are being encouraged to insert items such as pencil lead, paperclips, or foil (often from gum wrappers) into the charging ports of Chromebooks. This action can cause the device to short circuit, overheat, and, in some cases, begin to smoke. Understandably, this results in significant electrical damage that renders the Chromebook inoperable and requires full replacement.

Please note:

  • The replacement cost for a damaged Chromebook due to intentional misuse is $427.
  • Students involved in this type of vandalism will receive disciplinary consequences according to the Student Code of Conduct.

We ask that you speak with your student about the seriousness of damaging school property, even if it's part of an online trend or challenge. Encouraging responsibility and care for school-issued technology is essential, especially as we near the end of the school year.

Thank you for your continued support and partnership.
