Hello Bothwell Families!
We had another BESt week at Bothwell! This week, we held our second House Meeting, and our students continued building connections, showing House pride, and learning what it means to be a Courageous Leader.
Our students talked about how courageous leaders are willing to celebrate their friends, stand up for what is right, and spread kindness. It was so much fun watching our students cheer each other on, participate with their House families, and grow in confidence as leaders.
These House meetings are such an important part of who we are at Bothwell. They give our students opportunities to build relationships beyond their classrooms, celebrate one another, and put our Bobcat Heart into action. 🐾🧡

GT Referral Window: October 5–16, 2026
Celina ISD’s Gifted & Talented referral window will be open October 5–16, 2026. Parents, teachers, and staff may refer a student for GT testing during this window.
This is the only GT referral window for the 2026–2027 school year. No additional referrals will be accepted after the window closes.
Please note: All 2nd grade students will participate in the district’s GT universal screener and do not need to be referred.

Spirit Days at Bothwell
Spirit Days are extra fun! At Bothwell, we love joining in on district dress-up days.
Spirit days are never required, but it’s always a blast when our Bobcats get creative, show their spirit, and make fun memories together. If you don’t have the items for the designated day, you can always wear your favorite orange and white. We never want families to spend money on dress-up days; get creative and use what you can find at home!
Here is a tentative list of Dress Up Days based on district and campus events:
- Thursday, October 8th - Red, White and Blue Day
- Wednesday, October 14th - Hat Day
- Thursday, October 15th - Jersey Day
- Friday, October 16th - Orange and White Day
- Friday, October 23rd - Superhero Day
- Friday, October 30th - White Out Day
- Thursday, November 5th - Red, White and Blue Day
- Friday, November 6th - Jersey Day/House Meeting Day

Can't wait to browse or want to get a head start on shopping? The online BES Literati Store is now open through October 23rd. You can shop and have orders sent to the school or directly to your home. Every purchase, whether in person or online, directly supports the BES library.
Book Fair Volunteers Needed! Come greet visitors, help students shop, or run the register. Volunteers receive a 20% discount on all purchases! All volunteers must have an approved Celina ISD background check on file. If you have any questions or are interested in volunteering, please email the BES library aide, Bonnie Fillinger, at bonniefillinger@celinaisd.com.

Our broadcast team has added jokes to our live announcements. Does your child have a joke they want to share with Bothwell. Scan the QR code and submit their joke. We are excited to laugh together.

Dismissal Change Form
We have a new process this year for dismissal changes. All dismissal changes must go through the front office. Once the request is received, the office will notify your child’s teacher.
Please complete the transportation change form if you need to make a change to your student’s transportation.

Kroger Community Rewards
Kroger
Bothwell Elementary School is enrolled into the Kroger Community Rewards Program.
To Use the Kroger Community Rewards Program:
Simply visit http://www.kroger.com. Once logged into your Kroger account you can search for BOTHWELL ELEMENTARY SCHOOL either by name or DU641 and then click Enroll. New users will need to create an account which requires some basic information, a valid email address and a rewards card.
*Customers must have a registered Kroger rewards card account to link to your organization.
*If a member does not yet have a Kroger rewards card, please let them know they are available at the customer service desk at any Kroger
REMEMBER, purchases will not count for Bothwell until after register your rewards card.
Participants must swipe their registered Kroger rewards card or use the phone number that is related to their registered Kroger rewards card when shopping for each purchase to count.
