IA & TUAA EDUCATION SESSIONS IA & TUAA EDUCATION SESSIONS

Thank you to everyone who joined us on last week’s education sessions with Temple’s Institutional Advancement and Alumni Affairs. The informational zoom calls featured staff from our Athletics Department who shared an update on ways to support Temple Athletics and its student-athletes, including Temple Owl Club and participating in name, image, and likeness (NIL) activities. I am grateful that Andy Carl from the TUFF Fund, a community-focused collective created to support our student-athletes, was also able to introduce himself and the educate attendees on the work of his organization. We look forward to hosting similar calls in the future, so please stay tuned!

SEASON TICKET HOLDER PARTY SEASON TICKET HOLDER PARTY

It was so nice seeing so many of our Temple Football fans on August 9 at our Season Ticket Holder Party on campus in the STAR pavilion. You could feel the anticipation and excitement in the air for the 2023 Football season which kicks off on Saturday, September 2 against Akron. I look forward to seeing everyone at Lincoln Financial Field for what should be a great season of Owls Football.

TEMPLE HOSTS ROWING CLINIC FOR INNER-CITY YOUTH TEMPLE HOSTS ROWING CLINIC FOR INNER-CITY YOUTH

During the first week of August, Temple Athletics hosted the Councilman Curtis Jones Rowing Camp at the East Park Canoe House on the Schuylkill River. After touring campus on July 31, the 30 campers from local elementary schools in Philadelphia’s District 4 went to the river for training led by Temple men’s crew and women’s rowing student-athletes and staff. The week culminated with the campers racing against boats from city council representatives and Temple staff. I want to thank Jessica Reo, women’s rowing coach Rebecca Grzybowski and her staff, men’s crew assistant coach Fergal Barry and staff, as well as George Kenney and Claire Ergood from Temple's Government Relations team for making this event such a success.
