New at MWC ~ Online Attendance System !!
We are now offering an online attendance reporting system. Parents/Guardian can report an absence, tardy or dismissal by clicking here and filling out the form. The form is also available on the WPS website by clicking on schools, then select Maria Weston Chapman Middle, and look for the circle icon labeled "Attendance". We encourage parents/guardians to utilize this system in lieu of calling the school or emailing the teachers. All attendance matters are handled by the main office.
Club and Bus Sign up Information
Students should have a plan for what club they are attending, and how they are getting home before they come to school in the morning. Students are required to sign up each day for the club they plan to attend on their Chromebook using the Clever app while in morning homeroom. On the Clever app the student will be asked what club they are attending and how they are getting home. If the student is taking the late bus they will be required to fill out their bus number and stop. Please see the link below to assist your child on how to select their late bus information. In most cases it will not be the same bus number or stop as their daily bus.
All clubs end at 3:45 pm, students must be picked up on time. Parent pick up is the the designated lots only, please do not park in the front driveway.
Late buses are available for bus students that stay after school at a school sponsored club or activity. Students that leave school property and return back to campus will not be permitted to ride the bus.
Additional clubs will be rolled out over the next few months. Cancellations will be sent out by 1:00 pm by text message. All clubs reinforce positive behaviors that make MWC such a great learning environment. At MWC we take pride in R.O.A.R “Respect, Ownership,Achievement and Responsibility.”
Directions on how to locate your students late bus!
Only registered bus students are able to ride the late bus. Late bus service is not available on half days or Friday. Please go over the routes and select a stop with your child prior to the start of clubs to avoid confusion at dismissal. Late bus routes can be found here.
Morning BOKS at MWC!

Mrs. McCue-Day's Corner
We had an incredible visit from actor, director and Author Justin Baldoni this past week. He talked from the heart and gut about becoming the strongest, kindest, bravest person you can be. The kids seemed to really enjoy their brief brush with fame! Stay tuned for more fabulous author visits sponsored by An Unlikely Story.
CTE Information Night for Grade 7 & 8 Parents/Guardians

We are excited to continue our Abigail Adams tradition of the Veterans Day Wall of Honor here at Maria Weston Chapman Middle School this year! Staff and students honor our Veterans by displaying photos of our family members or friends who have served or are serving in our military. We would love to add your service member’s photo to our wall this year. Forms were sent home this week. Please send in your completed form with photo to Mrs. Mahoney in the guidance office by Friday, October 28, 2022. We welcome multiple submissions if you have more than one military member in your family. If you have made a submission in the last three years we probably still have it here! Please email Mrs. Mahoney at kathleen.lyon@weymouthschools.org to ask. Extra forms are available in the main office or on Mrs. Mahoney’s door in guidance. Thanks for your time and have a great weekend!
From the Chapman Counselors' Corner
Happy Fall to our families and students! If any students are interested in attending any type of school outside of Weymouth for Fall 2023, that process begins now. Private schools, as well as Norfolk Agricultural High School, have an application process. That process needs to be initiated by students and families. Please start by looking at those schools' websites. Once a student and family complete the application process, our school will then be contacted. Transcripts and other requested information always needs to be sent from school to school. As always, If you have further questions, please let us know. Enjoy the long weekend!"
